This is the story of the glory and the frustration of a shinobi who was called a genius, and of his determination.

*鳳, ootori, could mean ‘large bird’ or ‘peng’ (mythological Chinese bird that transforms from a fish) or ‘fenghuang’ (Chinese phoenix).

*As you see, Sugaru is written in katakana (スガル). This name means ‘deer’ or ‘red-banded sand wasp’.

Summary

To erase all the conflicts from this world— Itachi, who had decided this as a child, graduated from the Academy as the top student, passing through the status of genin he became a chūnin at an early stage, he aims at being the first Uchiha to become Hokage, and runs at full speed through the path of glory. Meanwhile, as the rivalry between the Uchiha clan, which is treated as the cause of the Nine-Tails attack, and the village increases the violence, Itachi is forced to join the Anbu in order to become the ultimate stopgap measure. The requirement of his admission is the assassination of a spy, Byakugan and Gentle Fist user: Kohinata Mukai… Itachi’s harsh battle, and his despair, begin…

Here it is… The info about the author is the same as before. Once you remove the book cover, on the book itself there are some panels from the manga (Itachi crying with the sword in his hands, and Itachi perched on the light pole). Once again there are some quotes as well, this time they’re taken from the manga (Fugaku telling Itachi he’s a kind child, and Itachi inwardly telling himself that he should have let Sasuke know earlier, but now it’s too late – both from chapter 590).

So, finally Izumi officially joined the main characters… And Kohinata Mukai as well, I guess he’s gonna play an interesting role then.

This book is longer than the previous one: 300 pages instead of 250. Plus, chapter 6 alone is exactly half of the book. I’ll start translating it this week, thus ending my week holiday, and I’ll try posting most of chapter 1 next Saturday (soon I’ll create a masterlist-page for this novel as well).

Just like the other time, I’ll keep this page updated with the translations as I complete the sections.
