My journey with an Endearing Stranger 26 Chapter 26

Recap:

In the previous chapter, Jason observes Helena hiding from Chase. Chase waits for Helena in the Brent's restaurant to propose his love but ends in vain since she doesn't come. He'd be completely depressed then and Jason gets to know all this and drives him home.

Present:

Jason's POV:

We came home soon. As it was already late, I insisted on Chase to have sufficient sleep. I managed to give him some assurance that Helena will definitely meet him in the party.

In the meanwhile I need to find out every small thing that was hidden which is taking away Helena from Chase. As soon as Chase slept, I came out of the bedroom and sat in the couch thinking deeply about what must have happened to Helena that she's so desperate to hide from Chase.

The party will begin at 6pm.....

I decided to meet her tomorrow in the morning and talk to her directly so that atleast I can make sure whether she likes him or not. I should do all this without Chase's intervention. Thinking all this, I slowly slept ....

Morning :

It was about 8 o'clock in the morning. Chase is still sleeping. I thought I shouldn't disturb him since he was badly fed up last night. I quickly had a shower and wore a t-shirt and a black Jean. With a complete casual appearance, I tried to grab the car keys from the bedroom where I have left them last night and found Chase awake.

He asked me where I was going at the very early hour. I tried to say something like...

"Um! Chase .... I... I ... Actually I've got to meet a friend from New York... So, I'll go and will be back by this afternoon....".

Somehow I managed and later teased him to have his breakfast and be active so that he'd look handsome in the party tonight. Otherwise,

"Chase.... Just imagine!... You'll look like a zombie....",I smirked at him saying so,which made him smile a little. I was proud of my sense of humour at that moment.

Very quickly,I vacated the place and reached the hotel and went directly to the room 206 ,where Helena stays. It was 10 o'clock then. I hope she's awake.

But only then I found someone already having serious conversation with Helena .I felt the voice familiar. It was a lady. Her every talk was sharp,blunt and straightforward. I stayed by the door-side, listening to the heated dialogues from the lady inside.

Lady: Hey poor Helena! Well done my girl! It's good that you've not met him....

Listening to this, I thought who 'him' might refer to... And moreover,why is the lady trying to control Helena?

Lady: By now,you might have got an idea about how powerful Hailey is....

Right? That would be good for you and Chase. I wish you want to see him alive....You better don't accept his love . He's mine....

Now.... I got the complete scenario of everything that caused Helena set aback.

So, 'Hailey' is the reason why Helena has not attended the date...

Moreover,from the heated conversation,I understood that Hailey is pushing on some serious warnings to Helena. Well! She's afraid that Hailey may harm him.

"What on earth can Hailey do to Chase???" , I don't understand. Why is Helena so afraid of her?

"Hmm!This fear might be because, Helena loves Chase. We can't compromise on our loved one's...huff!!!."

Well! I have to let Helena free from Hailey. I wish everything should be fine between the two love birds in the party. I thought the conversation ended since there was no one speaking now . I slowly moved to the other side so as to hide myself from the one coming out of the room.

Hailey moved quickly, slamming the door shut with a great force. I already expected this from her. After making sure that she left, I slowly clicked the door bell....

Helena opened the door slowly and was partly shocked and surprised seeing me . It's obvious because she would never expect me there.... I can see the traces of tears that had flown down her cheeks. She tried to hide them from me turning around.

Later,she asked me to come in and so I went inside. I sat on the couch and she lied before me. She asked me if there's something she has to do... I keenly looked at her since I was little anger because she's so weak that she's ready to accept every stupid thing that Hailey says. Moreover,all her actions has made Chase feel depressed.

All this disturbed me a lot. So, I thought of clearing all the disputes right at the moment and solve everything by evening. She remained silent all through.

I asked her, "Helena!Tell me one thing... How did you get to know Hailey....?"

She raised her head listening to my question, looking at me and I observed a quick tear escaping from her left eye. She remained silent for few seconds and later she spoke. All that she answered was,

"Mr.Jason, she(Hailey) introduced herself as Chase's girlfriend. She also told me that they are going to get married..."

I understood that this made her feel sad.

Later, she opened up a little and said every single warning Hailey has pushed on her. She also told me how Hailey informed her that she'd attack Chase. She started sobbing saying all this.

I was not able to control her tears. I frowned at her and said how come she believed when she said that Chase is going to marry Hailey.... I thought it's time to spit out the entire flashback of Chase to Helena since she has to know the true colours of Hailey.

Flashback:

" Helena! You knew Chase just either as a CEO or as a person who travelled with you everyday or like somebody else... But he's my thickest friend with whom I've been all through my life, right from my childhood. "

She began listening to me deeply...
