My journey with an Endearing Stranger 25 Chapter 25

I was depressed with Hailey's words. I cried literally for a very long time. I don't know what on earth made me so weak. I was too concerned for him. I am not capable of getting whatever I want in my life.

I usually lose everyone I wanted to have with me. This happened earlier as well in case of my best friend Julie. And now again with the person I love the most.....

I want Chase to be happy all the time. I don't want to become a factor that grabs away his happiness. I was extremely delighted to know that he loves me. But, as a true lover and a well-wisher, I should make sure nothing takes away the smile on his face.

Though this might be a warning from Hailey, I can't take chance this time. I have no other choice than rejecting him if he really proposes. Because if Hailey comes to know all that was going on between me and Chase, she may harm him.

It looks foolish but still I have to do this. It's better not to meet him for now since I can't face him. I should prepare myself to lie to Chase...

I am very desperate to see him. So, I decided to go to Brent's restaurant and watch him from a distance. I don't know whether I was doing right or not... But, I just want to go and see him right at the moment. That's it...

Hailey left the place at 10 pm. I took sometime to relax myself after listening to Hailey and then I hurriedly started to move to the restaurant. It's 10:30 then. I searched everywhere for Chase. We actually thought of meeting here at 7pm. But it's too late now. He will be definitely disappointed with me.At one point of time, I thought that he might have left the place........

But.... No. He's Chase.....

He will not do that.

I began searching for him everywhere ....

" There he is !", I said after finding him .

He's sitting at a table alone in an open place. It looks as if it was specially booked. The place was decorated all over. It actually looked like the one chosen for a candlelight dinner. He also had a bunch of flowers with him along with a special gift packed....

Chase is waiting for me I guess...

But, I can't go there. Chase is observing everyone there. He stood silently. I can see the sadness hidden on his face. I remained silent watching him from a distance.

" I really didn't mean to do this to you Chase..... I'm sorry...", I said in myself.

It's 12 pm now. He can't stay here anymore since the owner is very curious for him to leave. Only then I found him calling the waiter asking for a paper and pen. Chase took the pen and started writing something. I've no idea what he was doing. He handed over the letter to the waiter and told him something and left the place.

He went outside and leaned on his car and then Jason arrived. They had some talk over there. I don't know what it exactly was about . After making sure that Chase is safe , I went back to the restaurant. I ran towards the waiter and asked him what Chase said. He then handed over the letter to me and told,

" Mr. Chase Edwards asked me to give this letter to the lady who comes for him here.... I think it's you mam...."

I thanked him for the letter and opened it to check what it was actually written in it. The letter had ....

"Hey Helena! I know you might be busy with something and that is why you haven't attended today. I waited for you. I have something important to tell you. But no worry! I can understand.

Moreover, I am extremely sorry because I was not able to stay there anymore in the restaurant since it was too late.....

Atleast, I wish to see you in the party day after tomorrow.....

Yours Chase..."

I really don't understand how a person can be with lots of patience. I felt sad for Chase. This is completely my mistake. I'm responsible for this. It really hurts when someone whom we expect to meet doesn't come.

I know how it feels like. I actually have experienced this during the days I used to wait for him in the local train. But, this is even more hurting. He thought of telling me something important which I spoiled in seconds.

I didn't do it wantedly Chase.....

I don't have any other option. If I meet you, as Hailey said, something bad may happen to you which I can't bear.

I'm sorry...

I took the letter along with me and went to the hotel . Hailey's words began to run repeatedly in my mind.

I was unable to sleep. I looked very tensed...

Jason's POV:

Chase looked very excited as he's going to propose his love to Helena.

I was waiting for him at home. The clock has even stroken 11:00.But he has not come yet. I thought I should go there and check if everything's fine. So, I started and reached the restaurant in a few minutes.

I searched for Chase everywhere . Finally, I enquired the manager where Chase was. They showed me his location. He was sitting idle waiting for her. I can see the pain in his eyes.

I don't understand why Helena is doing all this. I know she too loves him. Then, why is she hurting him?....

I was totally confused. While I was about to go to Chase, I found someone looking at Chase secretly from a distance.

I moved close to the person and was shocked seeing the one.

She's Helena!

"What is she doing here? She should actually be with Chase talking to him... What's going on here? Why is she hiding from him? ", my head filled with lots of questions.

Even Helena is crying seeing Chase. At first, I thought to go and talk to her all about that is going on between Chase and herself. But later I felt this wouldn't be the right time to talk. I thought I too should observe them from a distance.

I felt like, they love each other but something is stopping them from expressing their love . I should find out everything and solve the disputes between them.

Time is passing,but there's no movement from both of them. Chase is feeling very sad there. Finally,he left the place and stood near his car. I was unable to resist myself seeing him with pain. So, I moved towards him and took him home.
