My journey with an Endearing Stranger 22 Chapter 22

I finally decided not to tell Chase that Helena was sad. I'm sure he'll be upset with that. I'm not going to do anything that hurts him. Because, I've seen Chase totally in depression earlier ,due to Hailey. I can't see him broken again.

Though it's not something like that, I can't even imagine him feeling sad. Anyways, let me find out the reason behind that first. I sat on the sofa in our hall. I was completely out of mind. I was thinking very deeply about Helena. Only then ,the wall clock made a sound. I quickly turned around and I observed that it was 9 o'clock.

I suddenly heard the footsteps from stairs. I know ,it's Chase. There's no one in this house other than me and Chase. He ran towards me and sat next to me. He looked very excited. I'm sure, it's because he wanted to know what happened there. I can feel his excitement.

He asked me how she was. Then I began saying,

" I don't think you have to ask me that. Obviously, She's beautiful, Mr. Chase Edwards. She's even more good-hearted than I expected. Her way of receiving and talking to others reveals of her attitude. I think she makes a fantastic pair with you. She's very precious, Chase......,

Finally, you're very lucky! man....."

Though Chase is the CEO of a huge company, he appeared as a kid right at the moment I began describing her. Everyone knew him ,either as a strict boss or a dignified perfect man. But there's a kid inside him,who comes out occasionally. And moreover I love that kid. I can see the blush on his face. He hugged me and again started saying all about his love towards her.

Huh! Oh man....! May be , people behave in this way when they listen about their loved one's.

Crazy people!.....

" Enough Chase.....Enough! I know that you love her. But please , for God's sake, I'm starving here. Can you get me some food ?...", I said in a deep tone.

" Okay! Okay! I'll stop it here. But lastly, You'll never understand this feeling, Jason. Because, you've never been in love... right!

You playboy.....!", he said all this laughing and ran away from me quickly ,being very sure that I'll run behind to hit him.

Yes! I've never loved anyone till now. This is because, everytime I try to impress someone ,I'll dump myself in some pit. Everyone calls me a playboy. I hangout with girls ,but I was never in a serious relationship with any of them.Chase always teases me in this matter.

"What's there in that to laugh? I don't understand..."

I've not seen true love before seeing these love birds. But, now I feel like I should get a pure love story like Chase. There's a magic in both of them. I think they are made for each other.

Huh! Finally Chase brought me some food . As I was very hungry, I started eating. Ofcourse, Chase too joined me. We began cracking jokes on each other and just got into our childhood memories. As it was too late, we thought we should sleep then.

Chase is going to propose her finally. He has been waiting for this moment from a very long time. And now the correct time has arrived.

I wish everything should be fine tomorrow. Oh no! Today..... It's already 1 o' clock.....

Chase turned to the other side on the bed ,on which we were sleeping. I stood up and looked at him. He was in a deep sleep. But still there's a smile on his face. This man might be dreaming of her. I laughed for a while.

Later , I too slept.

Morning:

" Jason! Wakeup man! It's

11 o' clock...." , Chase tried to wake me up saying this.

I had a sound sleep last night. I didn't expected that I would sleep upto 11 in the morning. Chase told me that he has been trying to wake me up, but I've not responded to him. Anyways,hardly I moved out of my bed and had a hot shower.

Later we had lunch. Chase had booked a table in Brent's restaurant. He made almost all the preparations. At the same time , he was little tensed.

I tried hard to divert his mood. But , I failed. He was just staring at the clock for it to strike seven.

It was 4 o' clock in the evening. We then went out to bring some flowers for Helena. We roamed for sometime outside and then returned home. It's 6 o' clock now.

" I think we can start in a few minutes....", I said.

" It's not 'we', it's actually 'me'! ", Chase said silently.

" But, Chase.... I told you that I will come with you right! And moreover, I'll sit separately. Hm! Secretly actually. And I'll not do anything mischievous. I promise.....", I said.

Chase told me ,

"It's not that I shouldn't take you with me. Actually, the reason is ....

(He took a pause....)

If something else happens today than that we expected......."

I interrupted him and said,

" Don't be foolish, Chase. Nothing of that sort will happen today. Everything will be fine. It's ok. I'll not come along with you. Do well. I'll be waiting for you here to listen to the good news.

Good luck man!"

He smiled at me and took his car and started there.

I hope everything goes on good today...

Chase's POV:

I'm happy with all that Jason said. I too wish that should happen. I wore a black shirt with a pairing blue jeans. I combed my messy hair with my fingers to bring it on to a shape.It was 6:45 pm when I reached there. I brought the diamond ring and the black dress I bought for her along with me. I waited for her....

She finally came. She wore a blue long frock. She had her hair curled and was looking so pretty. At that particular moment, she appeared so beautiful than ever. She looked absolutely perfect for a candle light dinner.While she was slowly walking towards me, my heartbeat began to race. I can clearly listen to my heartbeat. I feel I'm getting into an abnormal situation. This feeling is just killing me. My hands began to shiver. I didn't had this feeling before. I mean a feeling of this extent. She's near me ....

" Excuse me ,sir...", someone called me from behind.

I turned around to find who it was. It's the waiter. Only then I realised that I was dreaming.
