Little Phoenix Is Not An Immortal Chapter 29

Chapter 29: Devil and Demon Discussion (1)

The northern horizon’s winds swept across the skies and as the sky darkened, the two armies arranged themselves in orderly battle formations. Several divine generals and immortal generals donned their armor and waited while guarding their respective positions. The white barrier connected the sky and earth, forming one enormous protective shield. Placed at the Devil Realm’s sole northern road, it shined with a brilliant, pure and holy light. The formation appeared perfect and almost invulnerable.

In front of the formation stood two people standing side by side in the center dressed in attires that stood out from amongst the masses.

One was an immortal, his hand grasping a horsetail whisk and his hair and beard completely white. It was Jiufu Taigong who was seen that time at You Po Mountain; The other person had on a white robe and a tall crest, graceful and gentle. It was the Winged race’s Divine King Zhao Huajun. (T/N: Anyone miss this guy?)

The God and Immortal Realms had joined hands for the first time and had set up the barrier together in their desire to explore the Devil Realm’s might.

Suddenly, a squall arrived along with black clouds rolling up. A dark figure dropped down from within the clouds.

An intense, blue devillic light shone upon the heaven and earth. The robe’s sleeve dropped and his foot touched the ground. The range of hills swayed, the flow of air fluctuated, and the scenery of vast open grounds immediately exhibited a dreary, murderous appearance.

Face slightly leaning to the side, long hair lightly fluttering in front of the forehead, and golden ornaments brilliantly glittering.

As soon as those phoenix eyes narrowed, within a split second, dust and sand rose up. His divine power was like a surging flood lifting a gigantic wave as tall as a mountain and powerfully pushing down towards the opposing side.

The barrier began to sway after receiving this attack. The complexions of all the generals guarding the formation turned white. While exerting themselves to support the formation, they only felt their internal breath turn chaotic and their qi and blood rush upwards to their throats.

The situation differing extremely from their expectations, Zhao Huajun and Jiufu Taigong’s hearts simultaneously sank.

The Devil God steadily stood: “You people, still dare to receive one of my attacks?”

Zhao Huajun made up his mind and gave a slight smile: “We will only know if we try. Cousin, come.”

Gold and purple lights flared up. It was him and Jiufu Taigong personally supporting the spell. Receiving the help of two experts, multicolored sacred energy immediately appeared within the white barrier and made it somewhat firmer.

“Common gods and small immortals daring to challenge me, you deserve praise for your courage,” The Devil God tilted his face to one side, “I, will use half my strength to help you accomplish your aim.” (T/N: he’s gonna use more of his power to “help” their objective of scouting out the Devil Realm’s strength…haaa u poor cannon fodders)

All the gods and immortals were apprehensive as they listened to those arrogant words. All of them took precautionary measures with rapt attention without daring to be the slightest bit careless.

“Chaos Kill.” The dignified voice lasted for ages as it reverberated. He was still steadily standing on the mountain top and neither hand had made any movements. However, the blue devillic light on his body was gradually vanishing.

Suddenly, several scarlet rays burst forth!

The scarlet rays condensed themselves and one after the other, they scuttled towards the sky. It was the first time th

at he had used a divine art since his reincarnation. However, the scarlet rays could be seen circling as they filled the entire sky, forming an enormous ring of light. Within the ring, a long, scarlet dragon had faintly appeared and it swiftly dove down.

The divine art contained a cold, killing intent. In the blink of an eye, the sky shook, the ground trembled, and the weather turned for the worse.

Upon seeing this, an ominous premonition arose within the hearts of each and every god and immortal. It was a pity that at this moment, it was already much too late to do anything. Nevermind the fact that they didn’t even know what they could do. They could only wait——

Underneath the destructive attack, the barrier announced its destruction.

The remaining divine power dispersed all around which led to all the divine and immortal generals being shocked into tumbling many feet away. A few people with somewhat weaker power were killed right on the spot. Zhao Huajun and Jiufu Taigong also couldn’t avoid spitting blood from their mouths. (T/N: is it wrong for me to feel good about ZHJ suffering?)

God! Upon seeing this spectacle, Tian Zhen was frightened into retracting her wings and moving farther away.

Within the squall, the Devil God lifted his left hand towards everyone with his long hair obstructing half of his face. A dark, black vapor had enveloped the earth. His deep voice declared their deaths: “My divine strength, you people lack the lives to bear it!”

The Ninth Heaven’s Death God, warlike and murderous. At that time, all the ancient gods had worked together to set up a formation and only then were they able to finally trap him inside the highest grade mirror. Since he had reincarnated, all the opponents that he had encountered collapsed after the first blow. It was his first time seeing the two realms’ powerful formation and although it was still far from being sufficient enough to contend against him, it had however, unintentionally aroused his killing nature. (T/N: these guys r gonna get srsly rekted)

Devillic light flickered from the hems of his sleeves. It could be seen that he was about to send out an attack.

Zhao Huajun and Jiufu Taigong exchanged looks, both looks were bleak.

They had originally believed that with the two realms joining hands, there would be some odds of success. Who would have thought that his strength was this powerful. It was clear that he had never been serious in those previous military campaigns.

Without time to consider too much, the two seemed to tacitly understand each other as they simultaneously put forth all the power in their bodies. They intended to risk their lives in this fight to snatch a key moment and gain time for the crowd behind them to escape.

The Devil God gave an “un” and seemed to sigh in admiration. The devillic light within his palm greatly flourished.

Having rushed without rest and hurriedly chased after him, she couldn’t even manage to catch her breath. Personally seeing how, in front of him, the two realms’ mystical barrier collapsed after one blow, Tian Zhen understood. If this attack were to be sent out, even if the two people across from her didn’t die, they would still be seriously injured. Reacting resourcefully, Tian Zhen couldn’t bother dealing with anything else as she threw herself forward and hugged his waist from behind: “Your Majesty! Wait a moment Your Majesty!”

The surroundings were tense and the situation was desperate. Who would have thought that a disturbance would suddenly appear. Everyone blanked.

The Devil God’s killing intent was slightly curbed: “Bird Woman!”

The displeased tone showed that Devil God Daren’s present mood was extremely bad. Tian Zhen hurriedly said: “Your Majesty, I have an important matter to report!”

Being hugged in front of everyone, his image had suffered severe damage. The Devil God stopped his attack and changed to lifting her away: “Speak.”

Tian Zhen responded evasively: “It’s like this, I……I believe……”

Across from them, Zhao Huajun had already recognized her, his gaze slightly wavered. However, right at this moment, the Jiufu Taigong beside him had already sent out his strongest attack. All the gods and immortals had also discovered that this was an absolutely good opportunity and one by one, they gave their assistance by supporting the formation.

With the arrow already on the bow string, without a choice, Zhao Huajun abandoned his misgivings and cooperated in sending out attacks. At the same time, he shouted an order to all the gods: “Withdraw!”

The sandstorm surged, bringing along a formidable force as it came.

Tian Zhen discovered that something was amiss and was shocked into dumbfoundment. Her mind was a blank space.

Having been disturbed by her, the Devil God’s state of mind was scattered. How could he have taken note of the movements across from them? Upon seeing that he was unexpectedly caught off guard, after coming back to his senses, he gave a cold snort. His black sleeve fluttered as he sweeped Tian Zhen behind him again.

The loud noise was deafening and was enough to cause the flow of air to spread outwards layer after layer like ripples. Within a range of several feet, the dust and rocks had flown away.

Time seemed to have stopped.

There was already no trace of the crowd of gods and immortals that had been across from them. The only ones left were the tall, dark figure in the middle of the sandstorm and the blanked out Tian Zhen standing to the side.

Too late to raise his true aura, he had unexpectedly used his god’s body to firmly receive this attack.

The Devil God turned around and placed one hand on his back: “Bird Woman.”

Originally, she had only wanted to stall him so as to save people. However, she hadn’t anticipated that it would lead to him getting distracted. Much less anticipated that the opposing gods and immortals would take advantage of the situation to attack. Having almost made a serious mistake, Tian Zhen was both regretful and afraid. She regretted doing something stupid and she was afraid that this god would turn her into ashes out of fury.

But since he had saved her, the chances of turning to dust should be quite small.

Having brought about such a grave aftermath, he was still willing to protect a useless subordinate. At the very least, he was a good leader.

Up until now, all of the flattery and confessions were for the sake of taking advantage of his protection, but the current course of events made Tian Zhen feel unbearably guilty from the bottom of her current for the very first time. Endlessly ashamed, she immediately kneeled down and begged for forgiveness: “It was my mistake that caused Your Majesty to plunge into danger. I request Your Majesty’s punishment.”

The Devil God said: “Explain.”

Tian Zhen stared blankly at him before realizing his meaning. She softly said: “Yue Wei Mountain’s Devil Spring has opened over there. However, the whereabouts of heavenly soldiers were discovered and now they also set up this huge formation to draw Your Majesty over here. I believe that this might be their plan to lure the enemy away from his territory. The Devil Spring concerns the Devil Realm’s water supply. The little heavenly king went there by himself, I’m worried……”

The Devil God gave an “un”: “Even though it’s an excuse, nevertheless, it isn’t completely baseless. My son Binghe has already come out of isolation. He will make the arrangements.”

Tian Zhen blanked.

The Devil God looked at her: “Smart Bird Woman, you wanted to save the Phoenix King.”

Receiving a compliment for the first time, contrarily, Tian Zhen had a bit of a mind to cry. The perfect excuse being ruthlessly exposed adequately confirmed one fact——Not only am I not smart, but stupid to the utmost degree. This is because even now, I still haven’t been able to figure out whether you’re stupid or smart……

“I……King has treated me kindly.”

“Loyal Bird Woman,” The Devil God slowly shifted his line of sight, “I will let you go back. How about it?”

Successively receiving two positive words, Tian Zhen was overwhelmed by his favor.

Go back? Go back to wear the title of mistress and face leader’s awkwardness? Nevermind this, what was even more important was that the disparity between both sides’ strength was too great. Standing against him, the odds of becoming cannon fodder were clearly amplified.

Tian Zhen kowtowed and said: “I won’t go. I wish to stay in the Devil Realm.”

The Devil God didn’t speak.

Tian Zhen was nervous: “I saved king because king once saved me, but I absolutely won’t betray Your Majesty because of this……” She had spoken half of her words when she suddenly stopped, her eyes widening as she stared at that handsome face. She was endlessly shocked.

There was actually blood spilling out from one side of those thin lips and flowing downwards.

“Your Majesty!” Tian Zhen was scared into crawling up from the ground. Her hands reached out to support him, “You’re……wounded?”

The Devil God waved her away: “It’s nothing.”

Tian Zhen slowly withdrew her hand and softly said: “My rashness is to blame for everything, causing Your Majesty to be injured. In the future, this kind of thing won’t happen again.”

The traces of blood automatically disappeared. The Devil God said: “Next time you won’t save him?”

Heart mixed with all kinds of flavors, Tian Zhen gazed at the mountain top in front of her. She hesitated a long time and then shook her head: “Probably……will still save him.”

The Devil God frowned. (T/N: *gasp* he jelly~~~~~ awwwww)

Tian Zhen hung her head: “I don’t want to deceive Your Majesty.”

The Devil God didn’t continue to pursue this matter: “I have to meet the Demon Emperor. You, come with me.”

“Your Majesty is injured. Shouldn’t you first……”

“An insignificant, small injury. How could my god’s body fear the power of common gods?” The Devil God indicated that she need not say anything else and rode the wind upwards.

Without any other option, Tian Zhen worriedly caught up with him.
