"CEO Chu!" Chu Zhihao's assistant was shocked when the old man trembled on his seat and clutched his chest painfully. His eyes widened in disbelief as he stared back at Lu Xinyi.

Chu Zhihao almost had a heart attack from Lu Xinyi's blunt extortion. That's more than thirteen million yuan on their local currency. This wasn't a small sum at all. And the fuck did she just say she was broke? 

Her? The Shen's Young Madam and wife to the demon king with the net worth of 30 billion dollars was lacking money? This was clearly bullshit on Lu Xinyi's part! This was ridiculous! 

Her husband was rich enough to make him sleep in a bed made of money. Who was she trying to fool here?

Chu Zhihao knew that Lu Xinyi wouldn't let his daughter's issue pass easily, but for her to ask for such a big amount of money? That was like asking him to surrender the profits and his investments from his newly-opened restaurants. 

Shen Yi placed the little girl back on her feet and watched how she pulled his twin brother to continue playing outside the manager's office. They were followed by Jiao Jiao at once, leaving Fu Rui to look over their mistress.

"Two million dollars? Xinxin, at least make it four," the demon king replied, "You have to consider the emotional damages Chu Ting made against you and Yuyan." He pointed out. 

At those words, the old Chu's soul almost left his mortal body and got ready to cross the afterlife. This couple was indeed shameless and ruthless at the same time. From two million, Shen Yi added fuel into the fire by doubling the price! 

From Shen Yi's view, he didn't seem to mind that his wife was extorting money from another family. If Chu Ting hadn't offended her, would Lu Xinyi try to make her father bleed money for her? 

For him, if Lu Xinyi acted like a prim and proper trophy wife, that would only mean she would be easily targeted by anyone. Shen Yi liked that his wife that could take care of herself and needed not run for him every time someone tried to bully her.  

Want to bully her? Then, one must know that she was good at bullying the bully, too.

"Fine, let's make it four million dollars then." Lu Xinyi easily agreed to her husband's suggestion. "You are right. Not only did she hurt me, but she also gave my little Yuyan a traumatic experience." She scowled at the thought. 

She heaved a sigh and held her chest while leaning on her husband's chest for support. 

"Xinxin, are you alright? Do I need to rush you to the hospital?" Shen Yi kept his act. His face was tense as he held his wife on his arms. "If something wrong happens to you, I swear I'll make them regret crossing your path and will make them accompany you in the afterlife with their whole family!" 

Xia Yuhan couldn't stop the snort that came out from her mouth once she heard what the couple said. Truly, they were a black-bellied couple who had the guts to extort money from another family without batting an eye. 

With Lu Xinyi owning Flair Apparel, three restaurants, and a pastry shop; who would believe that she was short of money? 

He Haotian watched the scene in front of him with amusement. Ah, this kind of shamelessness reminded him of Lu Sibai! He wondered what kind of teaching his deceased best friend used on Lu Xinyi and Tian Lingyu. Evidently, it was more likely that the daughter inherited not only Lu Sibai's skills in cooking but also his mischievousness. 

In his mind, the two-star Michelin chef couldn't remember the sweet and innocent Sun Meixiu playing tricks to other people like this. Remembering his old days with Lu Sibai, he chuckled to himself. It must be in the Lu's blood, He Haotian figured.

Then again, Shen Yi simply adored his wife so much that he wouldn't mind playing accomplice for her. 

While other men liked their woman innocent and meek that could make them want to protect her, Shen Yi preferred his wife doing the bullying than being the victim herself. How come though that every time her devilish smile curled her lips, the more he was in love with her? 

Speaking of bullying, his eyes swept towards Chu Zhihao and Chu Ting, his jaw clenched and his eyes slightly narrowed. He then gave Lu Xinyi a gentle nudge reminding her of her act. 

"Chu Zhihao, your daughter dared to slap my wife and hurt my daughter. Do you think a simple sorry would be enough?" Shen Yi asked. 

"I understand where you are coming from President Shen, but aren't we businessmen here? Her disagreements have nothing to do with our partnership. We shouldn't let these women decide the course for our businesses." 

He Haotian wanted to facepalm himself after hearing what his uncle said. Why was this old man so stupid that he still dared to insult Lu Xinyi? Seeing Chu Ting beside Chu Zhihao, he then thought that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree just like Lu Sibai and Lu Xinyi—but in a bad way.

"Madam Shen… this sum of money is too much…" Chu Zhihao was visibly shaking with anger, but he couldn't lash out at Lu Xinyi because of the demon beside her. 

"Too much?" The little devil parted from Shen Yi. Her husband reluctantly released her and held her at arms' length. 

"Mr. Chu, don't you understand I'm letting you and Chu Ting off easily this way? I was the one offended here, ah? And let's not forget that you used my Uncle He's name without his permission. Should he get some compensation, too? Could it be that Mr. Chu wants my husband to deal this matter his way?" Her brow arched. 

"Fine. This is a waste of time then. Darling, I'm tired. Can we go home now? I feel dizzy." Lu Xinyi held the side of her head and leaned on Shen Yi's shoulder.

Shen Yi inclined his head to check on his mischievous wife. 

"Don't worry, dear. I'll make sure Chu Ting and her family will pay a price for this," he said decisively. 

He then helped her to stand up to her feet and was ready to leave the room when Chu Zhihao's voice stopped them. 

"Wait!" He clenched his fists so hard that the couple thought that the vein on his head was about to pop as his face continued to contort with anger. "It was my family's fault. Thank you, Madam Shen, for giving us a way out."  

"See? Was it so hard to say?" Lu Xinyi leaned her weight to her husband's tall form for support. "Aren't we kind enough to let it off by letting you pay for damages alone? If I let these problems solved by using the Shens' way…" Her eyes then shifted from the old man to Chu Ting. 

"Miss Chu, I'm a Shen now. Don't you forget that. Who cares if you are a Chu, I am Madam Shen; and I hold grievances against those who offended me." Her eyes narrowed at those words. "You are lucky you have a father to save your ass. You won't be lucky next time," she warned.
