"Boss Yi, Sun Feiyan arrived earlier; but she didn't show up to everyone," Qiao He informed him but got no response from his boss.

"A group of mercenaries had also arrived at the capitol, asking for Young Madam's whereabouts."

That report got a freezing and dangerous response from Shen Yi. Qiao He suddenly felt that the temperature inside the car dropped.

"Find out who they are and capture them alive. I want to know what they want from my Xinxin. I'm giving you three days to find them." Shen Yi's tone was so cold that it contradicted his actions as he continued to hold his sleeping wife.

"Got it, Boss Yi. We'll capture them ASAP."

When they arrived at their villa, Shen Yi tucked his wife on the bed before answering a call from Tang Shui.

"Does Xin'er came back home safely? My father and my family were ecstatic to finally meet her in person. It's too bad though that we couldn't introduce ourselves properly," Tang Shui said.

"Uncle, there's no need to rush. I'm sure Xinxin will warm up to you soon. Her first visit is just the start. We all have to start from somewhere, right?"

Shen Yi stared down on his sleeping wife and pushed away her bangs from her face. He heard the older man released a sigh from the other line.

"You're right. We can't rush her. I just hope that she wouldn't hate my aunt for what happened from the past. She's after all, our first miss. She's precious to us just like her mother."

For the Tang family who always produced sons on every generation, a daughter was a rarity. However, each daughter born from the family also had a hard time conceiving a child of her own.

Sun Meixiu was the first daughter from Tang Lingfei after decades of waiting for a girl, and she only had Lu Xinyi as her child. As for Lu Xinyi, she'd have to wait if she has the ability to conceive Shen Yi's children.

After making sure that Lu Xinyi was fine, Tang Shui thanked Shen Yi for his help and disconnected the line. While Lu Xinyi was sleeping, he contemplated if he should resume working but remembered that his wife didn't like it whenever he brings extra work at home. So instead of making her angry again, Shen Yi dozed off beside her and took a nap.

Hours later, Shen Yi woke up in an empty bed with his wife nowhere in sight. By going downstairs, he found her in the garden, bullying her white tiger as Xiao Bai tried to sleep. When she saw Shen Yi walking towards her, she grinned as she continued to pet her tiger.

"Darling, don't you think Xiao Bai is gaining too much weight? He only knows how to eat and sleep! I think he needs something else to do," Lu Xinyi complained to her husband.

"What do you suggest?"

Lu Xinyi tapped her chin with a finger.

"You can use Xiao Bai to punish your guards who made mistakes or betrayed you. I'm pretty sure Xiao Bai wouldn't mind chasing after them to death. I would love to see how Xiao Bai would teach them a lesson," she suggested.

"Not bad. Let's see if someone would like to play with him anytime soon."

The guards stationed at the garden overheard their masters' conversation, and droplets of sweat started to form on the sides of their faces. They all think the same when they heard Lu Xinyi's suggestion.

She was really a bride from hell, worthy to become their Boss Yi's woman! What's more, Shen Yi easily agreed to her suggestion!

The couple went back inside the villa to start making their dinner. With her husband around, Lu Xinyi taught him how to properly hold a knife and cut vegetables. She still hadn't allowed him to step inside her kitchen alone and cook anything.

"By the way, Dad and Grammie said they both like the pastries you made for them. They're hoping that you'll pay them a visit before your classes resume," Shen Yi informed her as he struggled to cut a huge potato on his cutting board.

"Then, we should visit them together when you don't have too much work on your hand. I have a lot of free time for the next two weeks although I might need to meet Xia Yuhan and Yuan Jin to discuss the next campaign and meet our new brand ambassador."

"Have you decided who'll use for the campaign?"

Lu Xinyi placed the meat in the oven and let it roast.

"I want Zheng Yue, but I think it wouldn't be easy to convince her unless I do something that will get her attention."

"So what do you plan to do?"

"What else but to grant the deepest desire in her heart," Lu Xinyi's eyes glint with mischievousness, "Would she be able to decline me once I give her that one thing she wanted the most?"

Shen Yi smirked, knowing what she was thinking.

Lu Xinyi gave the sauce one last stir before turning off the heat. She walked over to the cupboard close to him. He had his dress-shirt sleeves rolled up as he worked, with an apron wrapped around his waist to protect him from stains.

"Ask Qiao He anything if you need some help." He was tempted to help her, but his curiosity to see what she was hiding on her sleeve won. He washed his hands in the sink and dried it with a clean towel.

"I plan to do so, hubby. Thanks for offering help." She leaned up and pecked on his cheek which was too fast for his liking.

"What's that for?"

"Helpers get kisses, ah?"

"Does that count as a kiss? Give me a decent one." Shen Yi lifted a finger and pointed to himself.

"You're taller than me; how am I supposed to give you a proper kiss?"

Shen Yi gave her a blank stare. She squealed when he suddenly grabbed her and picked her up.

"Wait! What are you doing? Put me down!" She clutched his shirt as he walked away from the stove. However, her words opposed her actions as she wrapped her legs around his waist so she wouldn't fall.

He turned to the other empty kitchen counter and set her on it. Lu Xinyi shivered as his rough hands took their time touching her legs up to her waist. Her arms shifted as she held his shoulders. When he leaned forward, she welcomed his lips with a slow passionate kiss that made her toes curl.

"What am I going to do with you?" Lu Xinyi sighed in feigned exasperation.

Shen Yi brushed his lips against hers again.

"Hmm… beats me."

His fingers felt her smooth hair as he continued to kiss her. With her arms raised as she held onto his shoulders, Shen Yi found her exposed stomach and ran a hand over it. It was toned and flat even how many desserts she'd been eating lately. He couldn't help but wish to see it grow with their child.

She mewled against his lips when his hand moved to her lower back to hold her closer. His lips left hers and latched onto the side of her neck. Lu Xinyi tilted her head back and hit the cupboard.

"Oww! My head!" She released her husband to cradle the upcoming bump on her head. "Why do I always hurt myself whenever I try to kiss you?"

Her husband's laughter was the only answer she received from him.
