LANCELOT AND LIN LING OTP. THIS CHAPTER IS WHY. Yes, I just won't shut up about this. Someone stop me.
Have a Part 1, because I'm a lazy ass. And because this part is the shipping moment part HEHEHE.
Night falls, restoring the calm that it once was. Moonlight bore through the clouds. A stifling* air fills the very night breeze. As she walked towards the direction of her room, Lin Ling saw a familiar figure in the garden.
(TL: ???????????????. The hell? Typo?)
"Xiao Lan, why are you here?"
She walked briskly towards him.
"Shhh! Speak softer. I am waiting for a little friend."
Lancelot revealed an enigmatic smile at her. Those eyes of his, similar to that of a clear, open sky, are as wonderful as the celestial bodies. It brightens up even the darkest of surroundings.
"Little friend?"
She felt confused at this. Lin Ling looked at the honey cake in Lancelot's hand with suspicion.
"Yes, it's a little friend with quills on it."
Underneath the dim moonlit night, his smile looks as brilliant as a stained glass.
Lin Ling got even more curious. Just when she wish to enquire further, she overheard him said, "It's here.". True enough, not far from where they are, a miniature shadow appeared. It trotted up to Lancelot, and nibbled on the honey cake he held out to it. The little head bobbed, and raised it's head looking piqued.
Lin Ling finally had a good look. This little friend is actually a hedgehog!
"I befriended this hedgehog a long time ago, but I accompanied you to the Siberian Seas. So, it's been some time since I last saw it, which is why I come visit it with some honey cakes."
Lancelot looked at the happily-eating hedgehog fondly. Those blue pupils of his had a rarely seen child-like expression to it.
Lin Ling was surprised to see Lancelot behaving like this. In her eyes, Xiao Lan is a matured, kind and calm man. She never would have thought that the first knight had such a cute side to him.
"That's right, Lin Ling, where's your kitten?"
Lancelot asked, as though reminded of something.
"That's right, I haven't seen it since I came back. That fellow, it's getting even more brazen! Just like the master who once possessed his body before, it just won't care about me!"
Lin Ling fumed as she said those words.
Lancelot chuckled.
"If he doesn't care about you, he won't volunteer to come look for the Excalibur with you. From his expression, he looks as if he's afraid of his possession being stolen."
Lin Ling did not react at first. It is only after a few seconds later, she realized that Lancelot was talking about Arthur. Her cheeks turned beet red in a flash.
"I think he is just doing this to bully me."
She pouted. Lin Ling then hesitated before continuing.
"Xiao Lan, the chat we had at that time... Promise you won't tell anyone else?"
If someone else knew she's in love with Arthur, she'll be embarassed to death. She did not want to think of the consequences if Arthur knew about it, that snarky tongued man will surely ridicule her to death about it...
"Don't worry, I told you I'm not Kay."
Lancelot winked at her playfully, and rubbed her head.
"Thank you, Xiao Lan..."
Lin Ling too, smiled happily. Her heart could not help but be moved. If she could have a brother like Lancelot in the real world, how great would that be.
"Look, not a single crumb is left of the cake!"
Lin Ling then turned her gaze upon the hedgehog who's busy licking up the last of the cake, refusing to leave until it's finished. She honestly felt that it's an adorable thing, and her hand reflexively reached out to pet it. Just when she almost made contact with the hedgehog, Lancelot yell out in alarm. "Be careful!" The next thing she knew, he has already pulled her hand away from it, and held her hand securely in his.
"Be careful of it's quill poking your hands."
Lancelot had a worried expression on him.
"I~ I forgot..."
She showed an embarassed smile, and stuck out her tongue. Lancelot seemed to noticed something, and he quickly let go of her hand. His face beet red as he said,
"Sorry."
"It's, It's okay."
Lin Ling's cheeks are slightly flushed as well.
Both did not speak anymore. Yet, they looked up at the same time. Their eyes met, and both could not help but grin together.
*Beneath a tree not far from the two, moonlight seeped through the gap of the foliages. The light cast down on the young king, like layers of brilliant ripples.
*The icy, white moonlight scatters in the air, as though it is being winded in layers with care by a ball of yarn.

Arthur looked down at his own shadow. He finally understood just what this feeling flooding the very depths of his heart is.
This feeling is jealousy.
