When we started moving, the lizardmen also began to act in accordance.

I dunno if there's a military strata in a magic beast society but the lizards are all swooping down on the general on our side. Unlike goblins, theirs are a brilliantly orchestrated movement. 《strata? new terms to describe existense of military knowledge?》

Regulus swing [his] greatswordーno, [spear] full of vigor.

Around ten lizardman within range of the onslaught were killed instantly, dismembered into top and bottom sections.

Despite being on the same side, Chloe shudders at the sight of Regulus' feat.

While I'm being defenseless preparing my shell shot, Chloe cuts down any approaching lizardman with her sword of lightning, [Thunder Blade]. Under the effect of increased sharpness, Chloe's sword bisects a lizardman's body as easily as cutting a tofu.

Right after saying that, she bisects another lizardman. I can see her blade wrapped in lightning just before it reaches the lizard, and it disappears immediately after her blade finish bisecting.

Covering for us both, Chloe invokes her [Thunder Blade] to bisect any remaining enemies that manage to slip by.

Our target is the general goblin riding on that giant lizard but before we manage to reach it, a few other general goblins draws close to us. Some of them acts separately and approach the joint expedition members from another direction. Although it will put a heavy burden on them, they have no choice but to endure until Regulus takes down the leader general.

I launch a shell aiming for an approaching general goblin.

However, after witnessing the leader general blown away along with numerous of its lizardman subordinates taken down with the same attack, it avoids my ice shell with a nimble movement mismatched to its large built without being caught off guard. This technique involves a lot of steps after all. So if the goblin can see it [happening], they can easily avoid it.

Clicking my tongue in annoyance, I try to switch the image from a shell to a cone but Chloe rushes out faster than I could. She evades an incoming axe swing from the general goblin with a paper-thin margin while sneaking in a slash through the gap of its armor with her [thunder blade] as they cross one another.

With a dull scream, the general convulses and stops moving. It was electrocuted by her lightning blade. Regulus immediately close in and cleave the defenseless general goblin, armor included.

A heroic feat.

That armor is so sturdy that I couldn't even break through with an ice shell which is the highest output I can dish out presently (except for the super massive sledgehammer).

Clearly, his firepower is out of norm with the scale of this battlefield.

「I'm seriously doubtful that you need me here, y'know?」

Even while complaining, I rain down ice cones towards some approaching lizardman replacing the big one that fell just a moment ago. There's no power to it but it does inhibit their movement.

In the lapse of movement from surrounding magic beasts, both of them fall back to regroup. I deploy an ice sheet to intercept arrows aiming for them.

「I don't mind ya guys rushing out but could ya tell me first.」

「I have faith that you'll follow-up without any problems. And you actually did that, didn't you?」

「haah Your trust is heavy.」

But, it's not a bad feeling.

「………Ryuuken-dono sure puts a considerable amount of trust in Kannshi de gozaru na. Perchance, are the both of you acquaintance de gozaru ka?」

Hearing her nonchalant remark, Regulus' shoulder trembled. I lightly bump Chloe's head.

「Our first priority is to annihilate magic beasts in front of us. Okay?」

「Understood de gozaru.」

Chloe sets aside her previous enquiry.

「………My bad.」

「No biggies. I know about the armor. I guess there's a lot of things going on. At any rate, [that] sure fits well huh.」

I manifest an ice shell and launch it but this time, it has a slight change in image. The shell shatters upon contact with a swing of my hammer which then transforms it into countless miniature-sized gravel, raining down on lizardmen at the front.

The new shell, inspired by an image of a shotgun has both wide range and power behind it, mowing down lizardman unlucky enough to be in its line of fire. Beyond the falling down bipedal lizards, the huge body of general goblin can be seen lumbering our way.

After I clear a [path] by routing the lizardman, both of them run straight through it, aiming for the general. Chloe slices through the gap in its armor without even giving it a chance to swing its axe. Seizing the chance while its still in agony, Regulus then proceeds to split the general into two halves with a swing of the giant spear.

「………Isn't that too much of an overkill? 」

The general goblins are wearing a full plate armor with only their face exposed. To confront it normally, one has no other choice but to exploit the gap in its armor.

Regulus' heroic feat certainly is amazing but the expertise of Chloe in aiming between the gap of its armor without hesitation is also equally astonishing.

I don't even have to think about providing support. When Chloe switches into offensive mode, goes without saying that I won't have a chance to follow-up.

The lizardmen are choosing melee option against me since at first glance, I look like a magician.

「It's not as much as Regulus but uuorraaaa! !」

I manifest a large axe and start spinning.

As one would expect, it'd impossible to bisect their swords and shields but at least, several of the approaching lizards are torn apart while the rest are sent flying away.

At the end of my rotation, I throw the axe with one hand as if I'm throwing a shuriken, delivering a sharp present to a lizardman. Even while spinning to its intended target, the axe managed to rope in several approaching lizards.

「Kanna!」

「There ya go!」

In response to the call, I turn to that direction and discharge a continuous barrage of cones. That resulted in lizardmen in a straight line falling one after another, paving the way for yet another general goblin. Regulus rushes into the empty space to assault the general.

「Kannshi!」

「Comin' right up!」

Responding to a call from a different direction, I throw an ice spear, skewering lizardmen in a straight line. Chloe leaps over the skewered lizards, using the dead bodies as a scaffold to jump over a general goblin, while simultaneously slicing off its head.

「goooaaaaaaaa!!」

「daaaaaa Shaddaaap! And go to sleep ! !」

After creating a shell in an act of desperation, I punch it with my tekkou to shave some launch time.

「Whthat kind of damage! ?」

That hit the face of a general, which made it scream in pain. Though it didn't penetrate, the impact smashed its face inwards, effectively killing it.

Oo~ It's not as powerful as the sledgehammer but there's also the option of punching it away.

「「Kanna (shi)! !」」

「Ya guys, hold back a little, would ya! ?」

I yell at the two of them, who completely left the follow-up to me and rushes in headlong without thinking about the next step. There's a limit to the number of support attack I can unleash in one turn even if I'm a superhuman.

Wouldn't it be nice if there's someone who can supply me with care and affection while I'm raising my voice and sending support attack using my spirit art.

If at all possible, a kyonyuu nurse. Is there any such nurse-san in this world?

「hn? owaaaaa! ?」

A lizardman comes flying in from somewhere. After avoiding it in a fluster, even more lizardmen can be seen flying in my direction. With that kinda momentum, both the flying and receiving party won't get away scott free yo.

Incidentally, the source of those flying lizardmen is Regulus, who looked like [he] had just finished a homerun swing.

For some reason, I feel like the eyes at the back of the helmet are looking at a filth in a garbage dump.

Was it a coincidence?

Was the flying lizardmen coming this way really just a coincidence?

……………I swallow back the words because I have the feeling that it might not even be hornets coming out of a hornet's nest, but a dragon instead.
