Book 2 Chapter 1.2 – Underground Boxing Arena

“Oh, Mu Yi, Mu Yi dear, you are simply giving me too many nice surprises. Heavens, top-notch expert, at least a top-notch expert! The ancient eastern part of China is indeed rather miraculous. You are just as outstanding as Tian Gang!” The pleasantly surprised Old Jack was extremely happy, and he turned around to face his trusted lieutenant. “Tian Gang, come and have a chat with your colleague here. Oh Tian Gang, my dear child, don’t be too harsh on yourself. Relax, learn to enjoy!”

The Underground Boxing Arena was divided into the low division, mid division, high division, and top division! The athletes who participate in these events were correspondingly referred to as a low division boxer, mid division boxer, high division boxer, and top division boxer.

Different events would have different participation fees. The participation fee for a low division fight is several hundred dollars, a mid division fight several thousand dollars, a high division fight tens of thousands of dollars, and a top division fight would be several hundred thousand dollars.

As for the low division, that was for those who were bankrupt and without status, and were made up of rogues and ruffians who participated to make a living.

This Tian Gang who originated from China was indeed one of the ten supreme boxers. He was one of the top ten among almost 100 top division fighters, and his participation fee surpassed millions of dollars. His status was high, and he was far above Old Jack’s other fighters.

Currently, Tian Gang was frog jumping like before, and it seemed as if he didn’t notice Li Yang’s previous kick at all. That large white man who was previously lifting the barbell stopped, and he was currently engrossed with Li Yang. The other four boxers looked at Li Yang in reverence, and only they knew exactly what kicking down that sandbag represented.

Although not every top division boxer could kick down this type of sandbag, those that could were definitely top division boxers! The sandbags that top division boxers used were better than the high division sandbags that they used, as the materials were more expensive.

“Tian Gang, why aren’t you greeting Mu Yi?” Old Jack seemed to be a bit angry.

Tian Gang continued to frog jump like before, and his moving figure continued to move up and down. Only a voice sounded out from his mouth. “Strength is indeed important in the Underground Boxing Arena. However, technique is even more important, for example, the most important one-hit kill in the underground arena. So what if your strength is a bit more powerful? Moreover, top division experts die every month. What does being a top division expert even mean!” Hearing these words, the large white man’s face revealed an angry expression. Li Yang looked at the ruthless Tian Gang, and a smile appeared on the corners of of his lips. “Interesting, ten supreme boxers?” Following that, Li Yang turned around and looked at Old Jack and said with a smile, “Old Jack, I know the Underground Boxing Arena’s rules. There is a test for the physical body energy, squats, bench press, as well as leg speed in order to judge one’s strength. Only after these tests would one be able to enter a certain division of competition. In that case, let’s start now!”

Old Jack was shocked. “Right here?”

Li Yang looked at the frog jumping Tian Gang, and immediately told Old Jack, “Yes, right here!”

Immediately, the other five boxers all stopped. They all prepared to see just how formidable Li Yang was. Even Tian Gang lifted his head and glanced over at Li Yang before standing up shortly after. He walked to the side of the training room, and picked up a bottle of water before sitting down. His gaze was casted towards Li Yang.

It was obvious that he was also curious about Li Yang’s true strength.

“Oh, Old Jack, there’s no need to test my energy. I don’t want others to know my true strength, so testing a bit of squats and bench press should be enough!” spoke Li Yang indifferently. His current Breath Restraint technique was still at the beginning stage, so although he grasped the ability to hide his internal energy, he was still unable to hide his physical body’s energy. If he revealed his ten thousand crystals of physical body energy through a test, then Old Jack would most likely die from a heart attack.

When Old Jack heard this, his brows immediately furrowed. However, after thinking about Li Yang’s background, a smile once again blossomed on his face. “Esteemed Mu Yi, the purpose of the underground arena testing is just to place you into the correct division. The bench press and squatting tests should be enough!”

Li Yang enthusiastically nodded his head.

“Mu Yi, this is the apparatus for the squatting test. You just need to use your shoulder to resist the force. I will gradually increase the weight. If you think you’ve reached your limit, you can give up!” Old Jack smiled and pointed at the squat test apparatus.

Li Yang could tell with a glance that this was created based on the lever principle.

“Start with 1000 kg!” Li Yang said in a tranquil tone. Since all top division boxers could squat with 1000 kg, Li Yang’s request for 1000 kg did not come as as a surprise to anyone.

Li Yang casually resisted the 1200 kg of weight and did a squat. Following that, he smiled and said, “Add another 200 kg!”

Moreover, from Li Yang’s previous relaxed expression, he could tell that the limit to Li Yang’s squat test was definitely not 1400 kg.

Tian Gang stood up and walked towards Li Yang. The other five boxers, including that large white man, stood on the side and did not move, as they were all stunned.

Of course, it was not because Li Yang squatted 1400 kg that they were stunned, but rather because from start to finish, Li Yang’s face didn’t even turn red! What did this mean? This meant that Li Yang didn’t use his real strength at all!
