Chapter 6

Kalcion stiffened, looking straight at Dion. Dion felt like he could not meet his serious eyes.

“I'll do it.”

“…Pardon?…Ah…Yes…Pardon?”

Dion asked again because it was suspicious for him to hear such a word.

Dion, who usually followed Kalcion as silently as a shadow, was surprised.

Kalcion did not repeat what he said.

Actually, he could not.

His arm was already beginning to harden in the hem of the cloak wrapped around Selena. The cloak was mainly to protect him from dangers, but it seemed that it was now being used to hold Selena tightly to keep her from being taken away.

Dion hurriedly followed Kalcion, who had already passed by him.

His mind swirled around with numerous hypotheses.

Their Duke went to hunt and came back with a stranger for the first time. He always felt uncomfortable with sitting face to face with a woman.

But was he just going to keep escorting the lady? Besides that, Dion had never seen this possessiveness of the Duke!

The tittle-tattle also spread through the other Knights.

“Your Excellency?”

“Now what?”

Kalcion tried to ignore it, but his internal agitation was visible. He climbed up the horse just as he had pulled Selena.

“Let's return to the castle.”

The soldiers, waiting for the Duke's return, stood in a line at the gate leading into the city.

The horse clattered along. The Knights also climbed up on their respective horses and began to follow Kalcion.

Encased in his cloak, her face was burning with embarrassment. She looked around, focusing her eyes everywhere. Especially Dion's eyes.

'Either he is possessed by the lady, or I am possessed by the illusion made by her!'

Dion thought. After some time, Selena got the opportunity to whisper to Kalcion.

“…You did good.”

Kalcion kept riding his horse silently.

No matter how much he was praised, he could not be relaxed. It felt like his heart was burning on fire when he forced himself to say something he had not said before. It felt awkward and embarrassing. It was even more lively because he was not good at it.

However, there were still many more things to be done by Kalcion. Even when Selena praised him, it did not seem to be much of a consolation to him.

Although the act was terrible, it worked. Regardless of his acting skills, he had succeeded in shocking people.

This was not a bad start. A little more of his effort would lead to a natural performance. Selena was satisfied to that point.

The party continued to enter an underground road that was connected by the wall.

“Is the castle located underground?”

“This is a straight passage to the castle.”

The road was quite long. Soon, the road began to ascend and a bright light flashed over her eyes. The end of the passage was connected to the entrance of the castle that was situated at the top of a hill.

Act 2. Entrance

“Wow…..!”

At last, her patience was rewarded. She was very surprised to see how the castle was built. There was a spacious square in front of the castle gate. She could see all over the city around the hill.

“The capital city of Renbird, Silenza.”

Silenza was a huge city far beyond her expectations.

She predicted that she would be living a simple life here, acting her part while the others would ride horses and fight with swords. Anyway, it was as big as the most famous city in the other world.

She continued to express admiration. Silenza was nestled inside a long outer wall between the mountains and the city. The city streets were unfolded endlessly with colorful buildings.

She was not only surprised by Silenza. The scale of life of the Duke was enormous as the size of the city.

The gate was as high as the outer wall. Ten people clung together to open the iron door, which opened with a heavy sound.

The municipal people showed up beyond the door. It looked like servants and knights were working inside. They hurried to stand in unison at both of the sides of the entrance to welcome the Duke.

It was a magnificent sight. This sense of severity could not be emitted even from the scenes that were made at the filming site.

Selena, unwittingly shrugging her shoulders, caught Kalcion's arm. Kalcion held her shoulder tightly in his hand, perhaps telling her to stay still.

“Welcome, Duke.”

An elderly woman stepped forward to greet the crowd. Kalcion greeted her lightly, jumping off the horse with Selena in his arms.

“Mrs. Jannet.”

“Is everything all right? I heard the Duke went in to hunt alone this time.”

“It was as usual.”

Kalcion trudged through the clear path between the servants who bowed their heads in unison. Dion, some knights, and Mrs. Jannet followed him.

“I will have a bath and a meal prepared in your bedroom, Duke. Do you need anything else?”

“Another thing.”

“Yes, I'll be waiting for instructions, Duke.”

“You may go now.”

“Yes, Duke.”

Mrs. Jannet bowed politely and withdrew.

There was no “please” in Kalcion's words. In this castle, everything must have been done as the Duke wished. He was the sole law of this place.

'He really is powerful.'

Selena looked up at Kalcion, while he continued to move expressionlessly.

Upon entering the castle, she saw the large floor covered with marble tiles. Corridors were connected to each other around the square. And finally, the main fortress building rose from the centre of the corridors.

There were several rooms. Kalcion penetrated the first room to enter the second. As he entered the room, Selena could see a long line of windows and colorful doors.

Among them, she spotted the biggest and most colorful door. At the door, stood two maids and two servants, each of whom seemed to be guards. They stood upright at the sight of Kalcion.

“Your Excellency, Mrs. Jannet has been contacted. We will let you know as soon as we have additional resources.”

They hurriedly delivered their words, but Kalcion kept his movements steady.

They opened the door for him as he continued his pace. It was faster and more accurate than any automatic door. As soon as he entered the room, the rest of the personnel folded up nicely to bow to Kalcion.

Thud

The door closed with a heavy sound.

“Phew.”

Selena sighed.

“I haven't done anything, but I'm nervous. You're a man of greater magnitude than I thought.”

“And it is already becoming a problem.”

Kalcion put Selena down.

No matter how light Selena was, she was an adult. When she kept hugging him from the mountain, there was no sign of hardship for her. But now, as Selena's legs lost their strength, she staggered.

Kalcion was unwinding his cloak without even looking at her. Selena shook her head.

“How are you going to act like a lover when you're just being daunted like that?”

At the mention of the word “act”, Kalcion's expression became grim.

“You want me to act even when no one's around?”

“You need to get soaked in the role to improve your acting.”

He did not have to do this if he had good skills. Selena knew it was a waste of her life. So she left out the backbiting.

“Now that you've come to the castle avoiding any problems, do whatever you want next.”

Selena sat on a chair and slowly crossed her legs.

“I need that kind of power from you which can make things look more obvious.”

“Fine.”

“The power should come not from a word, but from your eyes and your attitude towards me. It's harder to do, but it's easier to get noticed by the people. ”

Selena's lips drew into a fascinating curve.

“So please try to be a bit more natural, okay Duke?”

Kalcion did not answer back.

However, Selena was sure that he would follow. In a short period of time, the pride and triumph of Kalcion have already been grasped. He couldn't have just given up.

Selena smiled inwardly, pushing the acting class curriculum towards Kalcion.

One of the servants knocked on the door.

“Your Excellency, the bath is ready. May we wait for you?”

At that moment, Selena and Kalcion exchanged their glances.

“Just a minute.”

Kalcion hurriedly threw the cloak over Selena.

The shape and texture of the clothes Selena was wearing were unfamiliar to this world. The fabric was too neat to insist on because it was made in a way that was easy to wear. It did not make any sense that ordinary people in this world could make fine clothes out of this fabric.

She had left her cellphone in the cave. So, she could not help but pull the cloak around her body and wait for the time to begin her act. Now that she thought about it, she was successful in entering the castle safely, and all she had to do now was to hone up her skills.

But she never thought of taking a bath. She hurriedly shook her head at Kalcion.

“Now, just take off your clothes and go into the bathroom…..”

“But, I can't just be naked in front of them.”

Kalcion pressed his fingers against his forehead.

Selena simply cleared up her throat and straightened her back, before shouting out.

“No!”

The voice outside the door stopped abruptly. At the same time, Kalcion seemed like he was stunned.
