The Tenjouin’s House is Far From Normal. Part 4

I am placing the sisters + brother here as a reminder.

Nishi Yotsutsuji daughters.

 The first daughter is Asahi (朝日)(Morning sun)(Friendly Athletic,Ponytail

The second daughter is Mahiru (真昼)(Midday)(Independent,Shoulder length bob haircut)

Third daughter named Yuudachi(夕立)(Evening Shower)(Long Hair)

The fourth daughter is Yoru.(夜留)(Night)(Aloof, Shoulder length bangs waved.)

The older brother Souji.(奏時) Btw she is always using (私) from now on.

Also Tokiwa Tenjouin, the weird girl that has the hots for “Asahi” and is a weird smell person.

Sakadera Shouko,Asahi’s friend. Family is loyal to Tenjouin’s family

And Yonagi Sakura Kojii, the weird rich kid that has this weird fascination for “Yoru” and can tell the sisters apart by the shines in their eyes.

After getting out of the bath, we ate dinner that was brought to us by maid-san. After that we had to play cards that Yoru brought along with her several times.

I was actually pretty tired after playing basketball, but in usual Yoru style, she said “What are you talking about? Playing cards is a must for sleepovers!”, plus tacking on that being lazy is unladylike.

Yeah, I was completely locked in.

On the other hand, Mahiru and Asahi had no problems with playing any game. As one would expect from people who exercise regularly. It seems like they have way more energy than I do. Speaking of that. 

. . . Mahiru is the black one?

On top of the table was a checkered square black board game. It seems to be a territory conquer game. It was white stones verses black stones. Asahi was the white ones and she seems to be losing, having the lowest amount of real estate on the board. In fact her expression was grim, and she hesitated every time she was about to move a stone.

However I do have to commend her for not throwing in the towel even when faced with such a disadvantaged.

I would have just given up if I was in her position. In fact I’m confident in how fast I’d do it. . .

“Yuudachi-san. May I sit beside you?”

“. . .Ah-, Did Yoru do something wrong?”

“Eh, No, I am already satisfied. Well, Excuse me then.”

I was simply watching the game between Asahi and Mahiru. When Tokiwa finished staring at Yoru and sat down beside me.

. . .Act like I don’t notice her. That’s the best thing to do, because I don’t know how to respond.

Also isn’t she sitting too close? I feel like I need to stay away or else risk my safety.

Although contrary to my expectations, Tokiwa simply sat close to me and watched the board game.

“It looks like your sister is terrible at this.”

“That’s right. But as long as she doesn’t give up, I think there is a chance of a reversal.”

“I see. . .Mahiru-san does have a limited amount of places she can go. There is a possibility that she could lead her into traps. So B6 or F2 would be a good move? Right?. . .Or, Onee-sama can maybe G6. . . maybe-”

. . . She is ignoring me now.

Tokiwa was deep in thought for several minutes. Only occasionally grumbling to herself.

“- – – Haah.”

“Oh, welcome back.”

I greeted her after she finally returned from her sea of thoughts. She shyly looked away and muttered “L-let’s talk about something else.”

“I actually recently began to raise Sea Angles.”

“Oh? That’s amazing.”

She suddenly brought a new topic up.

Honestly, it’s a good thing. Anything besides talking about Asahi, or watching Yoru is a good thing. So if it’s not about that, then we are just having an idle chat. Perhaps this can even calm the mood.

“So, is it difficult to raise Sea Angels?”

“No, it’s actually quite easy. All you have to do is change the seawater once or twice a month.”

“What about feeding them?”

“I heard that you don’t even need to feed them. Because the seawater contains all the nutrients they need.”

That really is quite easy. I thought it would take way more time.

. . . Sea angels, Oh yeah!

“Haha, Speaking of Sea Angels, Didn’t you once mistaken them for chocolate cornets?”

“. . Eh?”

“. . .”

The room was dead silent.

Of course Tokiwa was frozen, but Mahiru and Asahi both stopped and looked at us.

Asahi had a shocked expression, while Mahiru simply gave a bitter smile.

“H-How would you know, Yuudachi-san. . .”

That’s right. I knew that from the time I switched with Asahi, so of course it would be weird if I knew that.

But it was more than a year ago. I have completely forgotten about that conversation. It just popped up in my head.

“Isn’t it. . .Impossible.”

I stood up to leave the room, but my arm was then quickly grasped. 

No, why is she smiling happily? Please don’t look at me with those shining eyes. The same you do to Asahi. Don’t be moving your fingers like that. Don’t get closer!

“At last. I found my Onee-sama.” 

“Hyi. . .W-wrong. I-I uh, I heard it from Asahi. . .Yeah! Asahi told me the story. . .Right, Asahi?”

“This is too painful Yuu-chan. Haah. . . I understand now.”

I gazed at her and she looked back. But she had an expression of acceptance.

She lightly bowed her head to Mahiru and said. “I’ve lost. I accept my defeat.”

Then she stood up, faced Tokiwa and I. And lowered her head.

“I am sorry for being silent this long. It’s true. Yuu-chan and I swapped at the aquarium. Which means it was her at the wall don.”

“Asahi!?”

I thought we were going to work together and make an excuse. But she just let the cat out of the bag. I need to try and fix this.

“- – -W-What, are you sayin- -” 

“Tokiwchan, I’m really sorry.”

I was about to try and mislead her, but Asahi cut me off.

“I was just afraid if I told you, You’d hate me. I. . .I just couldn’t muster up the courage to tell you.”

I unintentionally look down, as She started to cry after saying that.

Asahi and Tokiwa relationship, was built. . .on a lie. . .A lie, I created. . .

At the beginning she surely thought Tokiwa was a disgusting person, but now it seems like she became an important friend to Asahi. Important enough to invite to a sleepover.

I didn’t know. . .I didn’t realize how much that was worrying her. . .

I should have realized. . .

“I’m sorry.”

I don’t know if I’m apologizing to Asahi or Tokiwa, but I feel like I should.

However Tokiwa naturally laughed in a high pitched voice.

“I don’t care about that. It was fun. Like a detective game.”

“But. . .I’m not the person you thought I w”

“Onee-sama is Onee-sama. Certainly that was Yuudachi-san that day, but there is no doubt that I adore Asahi.”

“But, I.”

“Oh, give it a rest! Asahi-san and Yuudachi-san are both my Onee-samas! This is my decision, no ifs or buts!”

She puffed her cheeks and declared that.

Asahi and I looked at each other, then both of us gave a bitter smile.

Wait. I’m a certified sister now?

Well, now that I think about it. . . If it’s just that. Then it’s not that bad.

“Yoru-chan. We are completely out of the mosquito net.”

“I don’t care. . .Go to sleep.”

Woo! The Tenjouin house event is finally over. All it took was a full year 🙂 . This one came out pretty soon. (Atleast for the author’s rate) But  now I wonder if we will ever see this novel again. At least anytime soon.

 I feel like the author just wanted to end the Tenjouin party event. And all though I was reminded on how much I do like this novel. We are probably going to be left here. 

Dang, and just when the story got juicy. Well that’s how the cookie crumbles.

Also I forgot how fun it was to translate this author’s work. It’s actually pretty well written, and isn’t easy for me to translate it. But that’s what makes it fun.

I’ll get to work on the next chapter bunch, although It is going to be a short one. I did need a break from translating confusing lore exposition or world building. Whatever it was.
