My own stuff I will do on my own. Since it’s natural for me, I do not hate routine tasks of a common maid.
But a maid’s tasks like take care of someone…I don’t really want to do it.

As a substitute for the less interesting life, book had become a good motivation.

One day, maid chief spotted maid cloth which I embroidered.
In order for my embroidery skill not to deteriorate, I sewed the hem in an inconspicuous way with same fabric colour, entwined leaf and flower like a grape ivy plant.
(The plant name is ツタ)

「The hem is turned up, feet can be seen though」… it was something I couldn’t say it aloud. She stared closely at the stitch in silence, with her finger follows the embroidery. I thought it’s inconspicuous to use navy blue thread in a navy blue fabric. There’s an embroidery stitches at the back of hem since there’s no enough space though, it looks like she figured this out.

「Did you sew this embroidery？」

You saw it right, you can understand right. I restrained myself from what I want to say, instead I nodded.
After that, my work of embroidery dress increased. Even though I could get money, if it’s a side job. If I wanted embroidery material, I could receive it, but the request of Flore-sama and elder sisters, I couldn’t reject it. It was a relief since there’s no urging to finish as soon as possible.
Why did the maid chief, who was normally by Flore-sama’s side, particularly on this day meet me? Only God knows.

But by using embroidery as a pretence, I was able to go to gardener’s work shed where my mother and I lived openly. There were plenty of embroidery designs left by my mother. Because for the sake of starting a new design, sketch of flowers were necessary.
I clear the dust in the shed, do a simple cleaning, heat up the stove to boil water.
I pick mint leaves from the field that has become wasted, and brew mint tea with hot water.

Involuntarily, I leaked out my voice. It’s been a while I have not felt public gaze during the day in mansion’s premises.
I moved my hand on the table to draw embroidery.

The figure of me carrying paper for sketching and loitering around mansion’s premises can be seen often, and the number of times I sneaked out of mansion has been increasing. Not to mention with my father’s help, of course I can go out.
Even though I say it’s been increasing, at most once in 10 days.
Outside the mansion, the number of shops that handle handicraft items had increased. I should have bought plain handkerchief, and when I have time I will do embroidery, as for earning a casual income, to sell at shop is the arrangement.
I check out trends by looking at people in the town. The colour pattern. The aristocrats love popular items. Town people imitate nobles. Though I never meet aristocrats in the town. Where I know.
Even I like pretty and beautiful things. However, I don’t think I want to wear it.

Perhaps the matter of me going out to town was exposed. However, maybe I am doing embroidery that other people can’t imitate, maybe I was doing the job given by my father properly, maybe there’s no interest about me, there’s no rebuke.
