Chapter 107 - Fu Xue (Part Two)

The heart of the battlefield was in complete chaos, with mud and rocks flying everywhere.

The flood dragon grew fiercer as the fight went on. Gu Hai, on the other hand, was growing anxious, for the spirit stones from the mine were soon going to end, and with them the battle.

Once the spirit stones were depleted, the array would collapse and he would be finished.

At this moment, the flood dragon was thoroughly amazed. There were over a hundred wounds all across his body. That Fang Tian Hua halberd was simply mowing through everything in its path. Although the wounds were superficial, it had rarely encountered such an intense battle.

Both sides, with their own worries, continued to fight.

At this moment, Gao Xianzhi, along with his subordinates, had come out of the Golden Chrysalis Array unnoticed.

"I am the noble of Jiangdong, my soldiers, come and punish this vermin with me!" Xiang Yu's voice shook the heaven and earth.

[TLN: Jiangdong is in Jiangsu Province. The ancient term should be Xiaxiang from what I gather from Wikipedia.]

Suddenly, multiple battle cries rose from the array as if an army of thousands and thousands of soldiers was about to appear.

Hearing this, the frenzy flood dragon struck with sudden fear.

It let out a roar and suddenly crashed into Xiang Yu once before fleeing rapidly.

Xiang Yu also stopped immediately.

Slowly, a huge commander banner rose from within the array, as if a mighty army was about to be summoned.

The flood dragon had heard about Gu Hai's army of cloud soldiers from Song Jia Sect disciples. An army of thousands of soldiers? I am not sure if I can handle just one cloud beast, if an army appeared, could I still escape?

"What in the bloody hell is that array?" the flood dragon roared out in shock.

However, the army didn't appear, and Xiang Yu didn't give chase.

Xiang Yu said, looking at the flood dragon, "Evil beast, if you have the ability, come back, don't run away! You and I should fight another three hundred bouts!"

The flood dragon immediately narrowed his eyes. "You can only stay in that place, you can't chase me?"

"Evil beast, if you have the guts, come back!" Gu Hai shouted aloud.

The flood dragon circled around the grand array. Indeed, Xiang Yu could not leave the domain of the array.

"An array has always been just an array, nothing more, nothing less, hmph!" the flood dragon coldly harrumphed in reply.

With more than a hundred wounds over his body, the flood dragon acknowledged that the array was terrifying. He did not want to take any more risks.

"Hmph, coward!" Gu Hai rebuked in a cold voice.

Slowly, Xiang Yu, along with Gu Hai, receded into the grand array, disappearing before everyone's eyes.

The flood dragon shook as he once again transformed back into its human form. Fierce as he was, he wasn't stupid. With no significant benefits, there was no point in continuing this battle.

Inside the array...

As Gu Hai hid Xiang Yu, he was swarmed by Scar and the others.

"My Lord, the spirit stones in the array are about to be depleted!" Scar said, a complex look plastered across his face.

"And what about that?" Gu Hai asked calmly.

"We are through, we started digging a tunnel through the mine last night, and we have gotten through!" Scar reported, excited.

"Let's leave quickly while the flood dragon hasn't noticed!" Gu Hai ordered calmly.

"Yes, my Lord!"

Gu Hai and his men quickly entered the mine. In the blink of an eye, the array was devoid of any humans.

Outside the array, the flood dragon kept on circling around it, looking for a method to break the array. His gaze was completely cold. Nonetheless, the array before him looked impeccable, giving him only a headache.

"28x28 Heaven and Earth Grand Array, huh? Derived from the Xiantian Endgame World! Originating from Elder Guanqi! Elder Guanqi is indeed worthy of his reputation, nothing can truly be done to this array...!" The flood dragon's countenance turned ugly.

Suddenly, a shout came from far away. "Ancestor! It's bad, Ancestor!"

Fu Xue turned his head to look, only to see a disciple completely covered in blood coming out of the Golden Chrysalis Array with someone's help.

"Hmm? Weren't you assigned to guard the prison?" Fu Xue asked coldly.

"Just a moment ago, someone sneaked into the sect, rushed into the prison!" that man reported anxiously.

"What?" Fu Xue's face immediately distorted.

Fu Xue stretched out his hand, and that demonized man was pulled over to him and grabbed by his collar.

"What did you say? Have Long Wanqing's servants run away?" Fu Xue demanded coldly.

"No, they couldn't have, they are still there. Trapped inside Ancestor's array, nobody could break them out!" that man reported quickly.

"Get to the point!" Fu Xue ordered with a deathly glare.

"This subordinate recognized them. It was Gao Xianzhi, Gu Hai's subordinate! He, with a bunch of people, snuck into the array and killed all the guards. Fortunately, this subordinate survived. I fainted. When I woke up, they were gone already. However, the prison had not been broken through. They should have met with the prisoners!" that man reported, terrified.

Fu Xue's face turned hideous as he repeated, "Gu Hai's men? So it was all a pretense to deceive me? Just to enter the prison? I fell into Gu Hai's trap?"

"It… seems so..." that man admitted painfully.

"You can go to hell!" Fu Xue lost his temper.

BANG!

That man was blasted into smithereens with a loud bang.

Fu Xue immediately rushed to the 28x28 Heaven and Earth Grand Array once more.

"Break!" With a single swipe of his palm, the once unbreakable array was blasted away with a loud thunderclap.

But within the valley, there was no sign of anyone. No one remained...

"How is this possible?" countless demonized disciples cried out in shock.

Fu Xue waved his hand.

BANG!

Immediately, the ground was blasted away, again and again, revealing pits filled with spirit stones one after another. However, there were no spirit stones left inside, just dust.

Countless spirit stones had all crumbled away.

There were only three pits that still had spirit stones in them, with no more than a hundred middle-grade spirit stones in total between them. Just that small bit was left!

"Just now, I was swindled by Gu Hai? He had already reached the end of his rope!? All I had to do was attack again, and his array would have been broken!?" Fu Xue's face became hideous with hate as he realized how he had been played.
