Child of Destiny 231 Being Scolded

Shin and Cloe were talking with each other's eyes while maintain their silence. Shin was too afraid to continue at talking since he knew that Cloe have already recognized his voice. At the same time, the latter was also waiting for Shin to say something more to confirm her suspicion.

'F*ck! How stupid am I? I forgot about my voice. Now, I am in trouble if I say something more,' muttered Shin to himself when things reached this point.

Then he suddenly remembered something. 'Ah! F*ck! Of all the times that I can forgot to turn on my voice changer function of my mask, why it has to be now?'

And Shin slowly raised he left hand in a natural manner as he planned to tap his mask so that he could activate its voice changing function. But too bad for him, Cloe seemed to be able to see through his plan and quickly caught his wrist and held it firmly to prevent him from touching his mask.

Since Shin was still quiet, Cloe frowned her eyebrows even more and asked coldly. "Are you going to talk or not?"

And when he heard that, Shin knew that Cloe was starting to become annoyed. Though he was aware that she was just acting on the surface so that she could force him to talk a little more. So, Shin released a helpless sigh before deciding to comply finally.

He raised his other arm and said, "Alright, alright. I get you now. So, what you want me to talk about?"

When Cloe heard that, her face suddenly bloomed a little and made her look even more beautiful. Then she said at Shin while wearing a charming smile with her lips. "Can you take of your mask?"

Shin wanted refuse it, but he quickly rejected the idea when he heard her next words. "It is fine if you don't want to, but I will also not going to help you with this quest if that is the case."

Shin smiled bitterly when he heard that and have no other choice but to comply. Then he took off his mask and revealed his face to her. And when Cloe saw his face, the expression on her face suddenly turned bright and made her face to bloom even more beautiful.

Then Cloe suddenly flash another charming smile at him and said. "So, it is really you. And you don't even want to tell me about that? Have you already forgot about me? I am going to become really brokenhearted if you do."

Then the corner of Shin's mouth suddenly twitched when he heard that. Then said at her with a bitter smile on his lips. "What are you talking about? You are talking as if you are my girlfriend or something. How many times do I have to tell you that people will misunderstand if you keep taking that way?"

"And how many times do I have to tell you that I really don't care on what are they thinking about? And don't tell me that you are you are going to dump your fiancée?" rebutted by Cloe without removing her charming smile.

*Cough! Cough!*

Shin started coughing hardly when he heard that. Then he looked at Cloe with weird expression on his face before blurted out unconsciously. "Since when did we become engage?"

Cloe's eyebrows scrunched up a little when she heard that. Then the corners of her lips started tilting downwards, showing her feigning displeasure. "What did you just say? Are you not going to take responsibly to what you have done to me?"

Shin was taken aback with that reply. Then took a quick look at the others inside the conference room. And that was when he saw that they were looking at him and Cloe with interested expression on their faces. It was as if they were enjoying the show.

Then he turned his attention at Cloe and replied. "What takes responsivity? What did I do to you?"

Cloe suddenly showed a disappointed expression on her face before saying with a dejected tone. "You don't remember? You already forgotten about your promise?"

The corner of Shin's mouth twitched once again and asked. "A promise on this matter? I did one."

"Yes, you did!" replied Cloe almost immediately.

"I am not," replied Shin.

"Nope, you did!" Cloe insisted.

And this time, Shin hesitated to reply immediately and said carefully. "I did not. Maybe."

Then her eyes squinted a little before throwing a glare at Shin and said. "You really did."

And Shin finally conceded at her and asked. "Alright! I did it then. But what is it?"

Cloe was still glaring at Shin at this point. Then she pouted her lips before turning her head away from Shin while saying. "Hmph! You think about it on yourself, you dummy."

Shin scratched the back of his head when he heard that and looked at her with confused look before turning his head at the others. And that was when he saw that they were currently looking at him as if they were looking at an idi*t.

And Shin misunderstand their looks as they were waiting for him to continue their discussion with the quest. That was why he immediately said. "Alright, that is enough for the show. Let's go back to the main topic."

But what he got were a bunch of cursing replies.

"Ugh~! This guy is hopeless."

"What an airhead."

"Can he still be saved?"

"I think Morgan is in a more savable case than this guy."

"Yep, he needs to be enlightened for a bit."

"I agree, this guy is really an idi*t."

"Good thing, Ravier is not like him."

"That is very Shin-like reaction. Hahaha…"

Shin looked at then confusedly and scratched the back of his head once again while asking. "What are you guys talking about?"

Then the other simultaneously released a bitter sigh after hearing that. And to break this atmosphere, Cloe suddenly chimed in and said. "Alright guys. Let's move on. What is our plan by the way?"

And the group simultaneously turned their heads at Shin, indicating that he was in charge of the entire plan. Then Cloe turned her head at Shin and asked. "Alright, dummy. What is your plan."

Shin looked at her and shrugged his shoulders and said. "Simple. We are going to sneak using your help, then find the Evil Archbishop and beat him."

Cloe facepalmed when she heard Shin's so-called plans. Then she released a helpless sigh before saying to Shin. "I see that you are still the same. You and your Battle Genius habits. You know, you can't always do it all the time, especially when you are dealing with this kind of quests."

Shin shrugged his shoulders once again and said. "You don't have to worry about that. We are strong enough to handle ourselves. We have you and Leo after all."

Swoosh!

Then a fist was suddenly sent flying towards Shin's face together with a great speed. But Shin was able to dodge in without even looking at it. He had the 'Ultra Instincts' personal trait after all. 

And before another fist came flying towards his way, Shin immediately raised both of his hands to surrender and explained his side. "Alright! I get your point, Cloe. But as I said we are strong. And Leo even confidently said that we can handle the enemies in terms of attacking and battle powers alone. What we really need is to how are we going to sneak inside without being suspicious."

The he pointed at Cloe before continuing. "And that is where you came in. Leo said that you had the ability to help us with that. And with Leo being super strong and you being a the best support that we can have, we are invincible."

But Cloe was still frowning her brows and said. "Do you honestly believe that it will become that easy? I know that you always want to deal with the problem that is currently in front of you. But that doesn't mean that you will not make some plans for what is ahead of you."

"I like it better when you are planning things ahead of time. Alright, let me tell you. That Archbishop Hervil is also the target of my currently quest. And I obviously have more information about him than what you currently have."

She paused for a moment to catch her breath before continuing. "That guy will surely not let the others to assassinate him just like that. On the surface, he has a single personal guard that is always protecting him. But in the dark, there are two more guards that are protecting him."
