Chapter 2 - It worked?!

“Wow… “
I sat there in stunned silence, my shock rendering me unable to move. I couldn’t actually believe…
I took a few minutes to process my revelation, all the while the stranger observed me through his cool eyes. He seemed as if he understood that I needed a moment, and briefly sat down on the only sofa, his eyes never leaving their position. After a brief while, I walked over to him in silence. My eyes widened as I glanced down to his already invisible wounds. I shouldn’t have been surprised that he could do that too.
Leaning back with a heavy sigh, I gazed into the man’s eyes. He stared right back into mine. Almost as if telepathically, he understood the words which I could not say.
“ so. You are the one that brought me here. “ Tenaciously, his eyes stayed focused on mine.
I slowly nodded my head. The power to speak still alluded me, and as a substitute I had resorted to simple means of communication.
He sighed. One of those long sighs that makes you think of a dreary man after a day of work, or an old man after walking up the stairs.
“ I see. “
Not much was said after that. I did not question his indifference, and nor him my motives. The already dim light peering through a crack in the curtains altogether disappeared, and it was only then either of us made a move.
