Chapter 1 - Prologue
[PS: I'm not entirely sure if Korea had Dukes or Duchesses because Google is giving conflicting responses. [Though I did stumble across a site that says that a Korean "Kung" is the equivalent to the western title Duke, I'm not entirely sure, so I created a fictional place called Littiha, whose ancestors are of Korean and English decent, resulting in Littiha being native to both English and Korean traditions.]
I transmigrated and became the Villain of a novel.
[I Was Murdered By The Duke].
[I Was Murdered By The Duke] focused on the life of the Male Lead, Ryu Haeun , a young noble who was destined to marry his childhood love and fiance, the next reigning sovereign Grand Duke, Soek JaeHwan. Their engagement and subsequent marriage were the result of a promise between their families, The Ryu House and The Seok Royal Family.
In simpler terms it was a marriage of convenience. Thankfully Haeun and JaeHwan have had a close and loving relationship since they were young. JaeHwan would often pick a variety of different flowers from the royal garden and give them to Haeun as little gifts. Haeun made sure to take care of all the flowers, keeping them all over his bedroom, often staring at them, smiling ever so widely longing for the day of his marriage to JaeHwan.
The day of the marriage eventually came, and Haeun was on cloud nine. That was the day that signified the beginning of Haeun's new life, not only as the sovereign Grand Duke's spouse but also the start of a decades-long romance. All was well in their marriage for a while. The pair had a passionate and fiery romance and were inseparable, spending most of their days together. Little did they know that their marriage would soon crash and burn, ending in tragedy.
Before anyone knew it, a year had passed since Haeun and JaeHwan's wedding, and a ceremony was held in their honor. Dukes and duchesses, noblemen and noblewomen of all kinds, came to pay their respects to the couple. This is when JaeHwan encounters the Duchess Scarlett Chi. Love blossomed in the Duke's heart. And from that day on, the Duke and the Duchess would indulge in a secret affair; the Duke even planned on marrying the Duchesses.
Haeun was immediately aware of the changes in Jae-Hwan's personality. JaeHwan was now easily irritated and had a quick temper. Often making excuses in an attempt to avoid Haeun. Haeun was at a loss; he didn't understand why JaeHwan had become so cold, but eventually he would learn of JaeHwan's infidelity.
Out of bitterness at the fact that JaeHwan had broken his promise, Haeun flew into a rage and vowed to get revenge, thus beginning his plans for the downfall of his husband and his mistress. However, JaeHwan caught on to what Haeun was doing, and what he did was beyond anything Haeun expected.
JaeHwan had ordered the entire Ryu House to be assassinated, and with his own two hands, he strangled Haeun to death.
After Haeun's death, JaeHwan married the Duchess, and the two lived happily ever after. The end.
"No!" Theodore Choi yelled as he threw his phone across the room. "Stupid novel!" He said throwing a tantrum, behaving like a little child who didn't get what he wanted. He didn't.
"That bastard JaeHwan! Oh I want to strangle him." Theodore said, gritting his teeth, clenching his pillow. "How could he do that to Haeun?! He was so sweet."
Theodore sighed as he lay on this bed. Ah, I'm tired! This is making my head hurt. I'll continue ranting about how much of a dickhead JaeHwan is tomorrow."
