*** Dawn Entertainment’s CEO, Yun Yena’s POV ***


Director Jung opened his eyes wide.

"That, CEO, but… What if Gu Gyuri antagonized us?"

"What about it? In the first place, we are a new company with nothing much to lose. Furthermore, do you think her threat will work against us?"

"Hm…"

"Remember. What did she threaten you with?"

"That she would never work with anyone who approved of this writer, ever."

"Right. But think about it. Do you think she would want to work with a new company like ours in the first place? She's Gu Gyuri. The best, and also the most expensive writer in Korea."

"Ah… I see what you mean."

"Right? What little money we can gather wouldn't even matter to her. So let's hire this other writer instead."

A writer talented enough to be praised by the best directors and writers in the entertainment industry.

Someone who can shake Gu Gyuri to the point that she would throw away the mask that she had maintained for years.

If a writer like that joins our work, then surely…

"Hahaha, I understand. As I thought, it was right for me to follow you, CEO."

"Yes?"

Director Jung coughed, but the smile had never left his face.

"How unbecoming of me. To think that I would even forget my purpose in life. You are right, CEO. It's only right for us to support the young, instead of blocking them from flying."

He's a good-natured grandpa, but sometimes, he says corny things that would even make me feel embarrassed to hear them.

"Cough. So, um, Director Jung, who is this writer?"

"It's… Huh? Who was it again?"

He tilted his head in wonder.

'I wonder if it's dementia…'

I hope not. I still want to work together with Director Jung for a long time to come.

"I will ask for a copy of that writer's script tomorrow. Their name and contact should be written there."

"Sure. Please do, Director Jung."

It was when I said goodbye to him and was about to leave work.

"Ah, Director Jung. I almost forgot. Please take this."

"And this is?"

"A movie script. You know, the one I was reading this morning."

"Ooh! The fact you gave me this script must mean…"

"Yes, it's fun. You'll definitely like it."

His eyes sparkle like a child.

Is it a sin to think of the elderly as cute?

Director Jung smiled brightly and shook my hand up and down with both hands.

"Thank you, CEO Yun! I'll read it right now."

"What? No, work hours are over, you know? Please go home for today. I don't want to worry your family."

"Hahaha, that's true too. Then I'll go ahead and read this at home."

"Eh?"

Should I have given the script to him tomorrow instead?

I apologized to his grandchildren who must be looking forward to playing around with their grandpa in my heart.

"Hm? This script is…"

But my apologies were cut short as I heard the surprise in his voice.

Director Jung read and flipped the script in a hurry as if being chased by a ghost.

That's a weird reaction… is there something wrong with the script?

"Director Jung? Is something wrong?"

"CEO Yun, I remembered now! It's this script."

"What do you mean?"

He raised his head and looked at me with a twinkle in his eyes.

"This is the same script by that genius writer from that contest! The one who was disqualified despite his brilliant talent."

"...!"

Could it be?

The genius writer whose script I've just read. And the writer those professionals had praised so highly.

Are they the same person?

If that's the case, then that writer's name must be–

"Do Duho! Right. That's the writer's name!"

I widened my eyes, feeling goosebumps on my entire skin.

'It was him!'

Director Jung laughed with joy as he remembered the name. But at that point, his words no longer register in my mind.

'Can such a fateful coincidence exist? Really?'

It was the moment when my decision to recruit him became certain.
