Chapter 5.1: Security Department

The Security Department was located on the east side of the 78th floor of the Empire State Building, just one wall away from the Marketing Department. It's also a fully automated glass wall. As Xiao Zheng approached, the glass wall parted and slid left and right. It was filled with a sense of wonder.

Xiao Zheng approached and was about to pass through the glass that affected the development of friendship between departments. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a warning sign on the door: “Women and dogs are prohibited from entering.”

“What's going on?” Xiao Zheng revealed a puzzled expression as he said in wonder. Everyone worked in the same company and was assigned to work on the same floor. This was a great fate, so why should the security department be so aggressive, forbidding girls from the marketing department from entering their homes and conducting amateur programs that were beneficial to their physical and mental health? He started to question his job.

Xiao Zheng shook his head as he entered the office, only to find that there was no one there.

“Where did everyone run off to? Didn't Mr. Deng say hello to the Security Department? I thought that my passionate colleagues would hold a welcome ceremony for me… ”

Xiao Zheng casually lit up a cigarette and walked towards the depths of the Security Department.

By chance, Xiao Zheng pushed open the conference room, tea room, and the door to the control room. Confused, he headed toward sthe office that marked the chief of the garrison. He could not help but complain, “It looks like Mr. Deng's reputation is not as big as I thought.”

Xiao Zheng, who had just reached the door, knocked on it and politely asked, “Is anyone here?”

“Come in!”

A weird female voice came from inside the door. It wasn't loud, but it was enough to send chills down one's spine. It was as though he was holding in a bellyful of evil, causing others to be wary of him.

As Xiao Zheng opened the door, he was immediately shocked by the shocking scene in the room.

A captain was indeed a captain. The office was several times larger than a normal security guard's standard 4 room. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows made the office seem spacious and bright, with excellent lighting.

At this moment, there were more than 20 security guards in the office who were on standby. Their legs were splayed out wide and their arms were crossed behind their backs. They were lined up in two rows facing each other with a solemn atmosphere.

At the end of the two rows of security guards sat a young woman with short hair. Her full and slender legs were roughly placed on the desk. She crossed her arms and looked at Xiao Zheng with a sharp gaze.

The girl's skin was the color of wheat, which was very different from those of the sales department or the sweet and fashionable girls. She wore a security uniform on her curvy body, giving her the bearing of a soldier. The lady had pretty facial features and a pretty face, but she exuded a heroic spirit rarely seen by modern women. Only the eyes under the thick eyebrows were fierce and cruel, greatly reducing the ornamental nature of the scene.

Xiao Zheng tidied up his clothes, recognizing that the lady with sharp eyes was the head of the security department. With a face full of smiles, he greeted, “I'm a new security guard. Big Sis, please take care of me in the future.”

“Who's your Big Sister!?” The beauty sat down on her butt. The chair leg made contact with the ground, producing a dull thud. She raised her eyebrows and said. “Stop trying to get close to me with a mischievous smile!”

Xiao Zheng's expression froze. He was about to explain himself when he saw the beauty suddenly stand up with both hands on the table. Her eyes lit up as she said, “Do you know that you were half an hour late?”

“Huh?” Xiao Zheng opened and closed his mouth in disbelief. “I haven't officially taken over the job yet…”

“Deng Jian called me half an hour ago and said you'd be right there. Yet you arrived exactly half an hour late!” The beauty slammed the table and shouted, “Don't think I won't fire you just because you're a relative! In the security department, there is only one outcome for someone who offends me, Bai Yu! Tell him what it is!”

“Get lost!” The guard with his back straight shouted in unison.

Xiao Zheng was truly shocked by the roar that could pierce through the clouds. The corners of his mouth twitched.

Was this the Security Department of the New Arcana Group or a distribution organization? Why did it seem as though their brains had been washed away? Xiao Zheng wondered if he had walked into the wrong place.

But since this was the first proper job he had ever won at the expense of his looks, Xiao Zheng, who had no diploma and no work experience, decided to grit his teeth and make a living. He didn't want to be on the same level as this girl, who had an endocrine disorder earlier, so he said while nodding and bowing, “Even if I ate the bear heart leopard, I wouldn't dare to offend Miss Bai.”

“You have to call me Boss Bai.” Bai Yu corrected her.

“Yes, Boss Bai.” Xiao Zheng stuck out his chest and answered. He then found that this kind of groveling was easy to brainwash, slowly relaxing his taut muscles in a rest state.

“This is the first time you've been late, and I hope it will be the last. Do you understand? ” Bai Yu shouted with a sullen expression.
