Battered Young Miss 70 Tribute 7

The car conveying Zhang Tianyu was less than twenty minutes away from HuaQu Hospital, so many things was going on in the mind of the President of Zhang Corporation. It felt sort of surreal to him about the way things ended at court. A part of him rejected that "his son" would choose to out rightly betray him, another part of him reeled from the shock of the betrayal.

His mind went back to the time when he threatened Yang Lin regarding his involvement with Zhang Mi's case and how he told him a barefaced lie, without raising his suspicion. Zhang Tianyu had always thought that he could read "his son" quite well, now he wasn't so sure anymore.

At the driver's seat, the aide of Zhang Tianyu looked up at the rearview mirror, he saw how visibly upset the President of Zhang Corporation was, his fists were held tightly in a ball and the look in his eyes was as though fire was actually shooting out from them.

Try as he may, Gao Yifeng lips curled up in a secretly pleased smile, not that he particularly enjoyed others suffering, but the man at the back made him feel no remorse in giving in to the inner amusement within him.

The fun was cut short, as he saw Zhang Tianyu reach for the inner pocket of the suit he had on, bringing out a phone. Looking down, Zhang Tianyu flipped through the screen to dial the number of Yang Lin, although he felt he owed him nothing, yet he couldn't resist the urge to call ahead to let him know that he was coming to HuaQu hospital. Placing the phone on his ear, on the second ring it was picked up.

"Good afternoon President Zhang."

The painfully formal tone at the other end, cooled down a little of Zhang Tianyu's anger, he thought by calling ahead, Yang Lin would realize that there was no escaping the heavy punishment that Zhang Tianyu had in store for him, this way whatever plans he had made regarding his niece would be halted.

"Wen Shu! How dare you deceive me! Just stay where you are and do nothing! You hear me! Absolutely nothing! How daft could you be to betray me! Do you even know what you have done?!"

Gao Yifeng was shocked by the outburst from Zhang Tianyu, he didn't know who it was that the President of Zhang Corporation was venting on, casting another quick look at the back, while driving through the busy road ahead.

On the other hand, Yang Lin almost flinched from the tone of Zhang Tianyu, he couldn't remember the time he was referred to that name by him, hearing the voice on the other end, he knew that he had really ticked off the President of Zhang Corporation. In a tone that conveyed sincerity, he told Zhang Tianyu that he would meet him downstairs when he gets to the hospital. With no further words exchanged, Zhang Tianyu cut the phone off abruptly. Meanwhile, Gao Yifeng had a puzzled look as to the identity of the person that could spark so much rage from the President of Zhang Corporation, apart from the Zhang heiress, there was no one that came to mind regarding that, he did remember Yang Lin being beaten up, but the name he heard the man being called was "Yang Lin" and not "Wen Shu", who was this Wen Shu? Gao Yifeng pondered on it, as he continued to drive towards HuaQu Hospital.

On the way to Duan Mansion belonging to director Duan of Zhang Corporation, Duan Feng and Huang Zilin sat together at the back seat of a dark grey luxurious car which was driven by one of the men his father had sent to bring him home.

"If my Dad ask you anything, just smile and look pretty as you usual do! No unnecessary chit chat! He easily gets bored by that and don't even try to sweet talk him. You can't win him, unless you suddenly climb up the ranks to become a Vice President or something of that nature."

Duan Feng's last word was said as a snide remark, he wanted Huang Zilin to know her place before venturing into the family home of the Duans. One of the poorest decision he had ever made was choosing her over Zhang Mi, he hadn't heard his father mention not even once as to why he left such a great catch for someone lesser.

"You don't have to tell me how to act! I have eyes and I'm not short on common sense. Okay!"

Irritated by the way she was acting up, Duan Feng could not resist, raising a hand to strike her across the face. Almost immediately the cheek where he struck turned a shade of red. Covering the spot with one hand, Huang Zilin cried out, You slapped me!"

"Yes I did and if you don't sit still for the remainder of the journey, I'll ask the driver to stop the car and throw you out!"

Watching the fury in those eyes, Huang Zilin meekly gave in to what Duan Feng said, as she shifted far from where she initially sat closely by him. The driver was the type that was used to seeing things like that in the Duan household, it didn't come as a surprise when he heard the crack of slap coming from the back. He knew that women like Huang Zilin would marry into money and power, if they couldn't achieve it on their own and would stomach all sorts to get to where they wanted. A slap or more, even if it meant being mistreated, the title was what many like her chased after, but sadly only a few are able to maintain their sanity after entering the world of men like the Duans. Madam Duan although born into a "good family" it wasn't enough to save her from the things her husband did to her both in secret and in public. Thinking of the woman at the back, the young man shook his head inside of him, as he felt that history was about to repeat itself. The rest of the trip continued in silence.
