Chapter 176: News of WH Gathering Point

In the distance more than 10 large trucks appeared from within the fog of dust and sand, the fleet that had went back to the spa had returned, the only difference was that they had missed the intense and thrilling battle. After dinner, Zhang Xiao Qiang did a patrol around the camp and inspected the place, the Combat Team members were split into two divisions and did roundabout patrol at the edge of the camp, using powerful torch lights to shine at dim places, the rifles in their hands all lock and loaded. Zhang Xiao Qiang had given the order to fire first and give a warning after to anything they deemed as strange. The camp was not large, every Combat Team Member were able to clearly see and be clear of the situation inside the camp so Zhang Xiao Qiang became more at ease.  His patrol was actually his activity to digest his food, when he suddenly felt strange in his stomach…. Zhang Xiao Qiang had a cigarette lit in his mouth and a roll of tissue paper in his hands. He looked around, hoping to find a blessed land to resolve his problem, the slow-burning cigarette constantly emitting a faint smoke that caused him to squint. "BANG….." The desert eagle unleashed flames that smothered upon coming in contact with the air outside, the sky was dark and still getting darker and the hillside had turned gloomy. It was to the point that even a slight distance away was no longer clear. The men who had just roared like animals retracted their teeth and claws and acted docile, the short and sharpened reinforced steel bar dropped to the man's feet and struck a rock, producing a 'clang' sound. The moment they saw the Desert Eagle in Zhang Xiao Qiang's hands, their legs started trembling like sieves, the man who charged first was the most extreme, his entire body was trembling as though he could fall at any moment.

A few beams of light dispersed the darkness around Zhang Xiao Qiang and found their way to Zhang Xiao Qiang's Desert Eagle that reflected the light. The four raggedly dressed men raised their hands in unison in a stance to surrender…..

Zhang Xiao Qiang sat in the middle of the camp near a bonfire and took a puff while Zhang Huai An and a few men interrogated the four of them. The four men were extremely honest with the muzzles pointing right at their faces, they did not even dare to lower their heads and answered every question that Zhang Huai An had for them. Zhang Huai An questioned them very carefully, they had even announced their underwear colors……

On the day of the virus breakout, the crowd at the construction site became a mess. As the terrain was open, many people managed to escape with many scattering out into the wilderness. The ordinary citizens were not unified as well, they formed groups of villagers and moved separately, the town people were together and prohibited others from entering their territory. Adding that the different companies had people in the same villages and enemy villagers, this alliance quickly crumbled.

With more people, consumption became faster, the intake of food of a few hundred men and the consumption of water became a problem. A few men who drank unclean water turned into zombies, a few others did not dare to look for the water source, some found a clean water mouth with much difficulty but were occupied by others who found it as well. To consume water, they had to trade items, food, clothe, women. They welcomed everyone, if no one had anything, it was fine, they still have some water, but everyone only had a small mouth to drink a day. This prevented them from dying of thirst and prevented others from fighting it out with them.

The construction workers had no women, all of those who had women were ordinary citizens that were dragged by their families. There were very few women and over 30 of them were too old or too young. Their trades made the ordinary citizens very unhappy, adding that one of the small ringleaders fell for a young lady and wanted to exchange two large pots of water for her to which the family disagreed, he made his move and with a slip of his hand, killed the young lady's father. This led to the ordinary citizens being infuriated. The ringleader was ripped to pieces on the spot, and when the crowd saw the blood, all of them lost common sense. Adding that people took the lead to spread gossip, everyone started to grab their things and grab as much water as they can. When the other companies saw the ordinary citizens going crazy, they became even crazier. They no longer cared about scarcity and started using the goods they seized from others to exploit others, causing others to be unhappy. But who would care when they could take advantage of other people?

From the big fight, the big group of 300 men dropped to 200, the water mouth that was originally sufficient was seized and became less, one after another, people started to die with incomplete bodies. The people who claimed the water mouth realized that the water was too little and insufficient for a few hundred people to use and could only ensure their own consumption. With that, they finalized a plan where the men would search for food in the day while the ladies waited at home, a few ladies that had no men with them had to trade their own bodies for food. Those that did not find anything went hungry, women who lost their men traded their bodies for food while those who still had their men could eat with them.

The four men that were found were coincidentally near Zhang Xiao Qiang's camp looking for food and heard the gunshots and mortar rounds. Thus they thought it was their opportunity to gain something. They detoured and climbed from the back of the hillside slowly. By the time they saw Zhang Xiao Qiang emerging from the crack after his big business, the sky was already dark. They were not able to see clearly, adding that Zhang Xiao Qiang did not make a sound, they thought that they had encountered a zombie, and was about to kill him off when the gunshot was fired….
