“He said that he wasn’t feeling too well, so he’s resting in his room.” replied Mo Bai. His gentle tone and his eyes carried a calming smile, “I went to have a look, nothing big.”

“Ok…” Gu Qingyu nodded, she seemed to be lost in thoughts.

“I’m not sure where Qi Wan went.” Xiao Qi weakly licked her lips and walked up to Gu Qingyu’s side.

“Mm, then, let’s go first.” Gu Qingyu glanced towards Jia Qizhe’s closed door, then turned and walked away.

 

When she arrived outside, she noticed it was unusually bustling with excitement. Every small stall had shelters to keep the rain off, and folks were coming and going.

 

The crowd suddenly quieted down, and people moved aside, leaving a way through the street. Then, following came hundreds of women wearing bright red dresses. As they all raised their hands, countless of fireworks shoot towards the skies, blooming in the rain, “Boss, Happy Ghost Day!”

 

Gu Qingyu looked confused at first and then laughed.

 

Qi Wan walked out through a path between the women, “How was it? Aren’t you very touched right now?”
