A Sorcerer's Journey Chapter 154

A shadow appeared on earth as if there was a floating mountain in the sky.

The majestic Celestial Cordillera cast its shadow upon the Seven Rings Holy Tower and its surrounding areas. A giant mutated dragonfly flew swiftly towards it, on its back was a Sorcerer Guardian dressed in a purple-gray robe.

"Seven Rings Emissary."

The Sorcerer Guardian's rank was much lower than the one who just showed up in the whirlpool of the Dark Sea, yet he took the liberty of offering his greetings.

Things were different from practice during apprenticeship.

Being qualified as an official sorcerer means Glenn's mastery of nature force had reached a rather significant level. From his uncertain intuition, he had a feeling that there was some sort of law or rule binding each guardian together, including the Sorcerer Guardian who just appeared with the one who appeared from the Black Sea's vortex.

Glenn could not tell what the connection was, yet he convinced Demon-Hunters such as himself to be obedient at all times.

The reason Stigmata Sorcerers possessed absolute control was because of their ultimate mastery of Nature Force?

Nairo, Yupao, Glenn and two Bright Sorcerers stood on the head of the Celestial Cordillera. They looked much stronger than they were before they ventured into the World-Core, they were transformed deep down to their cores.

Yupao and Glenn had the most significant changes among the group.

Yupao's skin was thick and wrinkled like a tough old bark. His eyes were clouded as his body emitted an aura of death. Somehow the Elemental Sorcerer had a substantially stronger invisible aura that overpowered all the five sorcerer apprentices.

If Nairo were to challenge Yupao, she would not stand a chance.

Glenn, on the other hand, looked strong physically. With all the life force pouring out of his body, ordinary people would think that he was the strongest among the five Demon-Hunters. In the eyes of the Elemental Sorcerer however, his invisible aura was the weakest of them all!

Yes, very weak indeed.

It was undeniable...

Glenn might have advanced to an official sorcerer and his mastery of Nature Force was so unbelievably high that no Sorcerer Apprentice could resist, but his Mental Power had dropped to twelve points. Now Glenn's most powerful Fire Blast Spell could only inflict a measly damage of 110 to 130 points.

In other words, Glenn could control any sorcerer apprentice if he wanted to, yet any Lianti Sorcerer or Level 1 foreign land organism could easily handle Glenn since all he mastered was Nature Force.

With that said, if Glenn were to engage Cameron in combat, Glenn would most likely be controlled by Cameron.

Of course, Glenn was physically stronger now. Cameron would find it challenging to take down Glenn, which means it would most probably end in a stalemate.

An abrupt silence befell its surroundings as the Celestial Cordillera placidly opened its eyes. Glenn's party, the Sorcerer Guardian and even the Ougi sorcerers guarding at the far edges held their breath, lest they let out even a peep.

The Celestial Cordillera finally said, "Well? Is this it? Have we reached the checkpoint of Seven Rings Holy Tower? If that is the case, I have completed my mission. These sorcerer apprentices have successfully advanced to official sorcerers. I will leave them to you."

Glenn's eyes twitched under his pale mask, while the rest of the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers all reacted differently.

The Celestial Cordillera seemed to have slept throughout the whole journey there, like it was driven by its instincts.

The Sorcerer Guardian was not surprised at all. With a nod, he signaled for Glenn's party to go over to his side. Without hesitation, they flew to the Sorcerer Guardian and bid farewell to the giant turtle.

"Hmm, I hope one day I can see all of you at the World of Seven Rings. I have memorized all of your accents," said the Celestial Cordillera.

Other than Virtuous Demon-Hunters, only a Level 3 Demon-Hunter could enter the World of Seven Rings.

The party of five rode with the Sorcerer Guardian on the gigantic dragonfly and soon landed safely. At one glance, they could see more than twenty Ougi Sorcerers waiting for them on the ground. They moved to open a path for Glenn's party, their faces green with envy.

Glenn's party acknowledged the support of the Ougi Sorcerers and safely entered their defensive cover.

"Woof woof woof, oh great master Glenn, so this is the sorcerers' defensive barrier meant to protect the Seven Rings Holy Tower? Is this the old bastard… oh no, I mean the great guide of the Pioneer Castle's magnification of his research on a tool to materialize the will of the World-Core before his death? Sorcerers in this age are able to… to materialize the World-Core's will to this extent? Unbelievable!" Little Ba spoke softly, astounded by what it saw.

The Steel Emblem Myna was furious at Glenn, yet it was bonded to his Origin Soul. There was nothing it could do but to obey him.

Glenn shook his head and replied, "The Sorcerer civilization has been constantly evolving, especially after the second war of civilization. The Sorcerer civilization might have lost in that war, but a lot of changes happened in this world, changes not even the ancient sorcerers could predict. Although this sorcerer world is not as strong as the triumphant times in the ancient sorcerer civilization, its potential has outgrown the imagination of any ancient sorcerer!"

Glenn gave the Steel Emblem Myna a surprised look. "Do you know what the sorcerer alliance is?"

"Sorcerer alliance, what is that?" the myna asked out of curiosity.

Glenn was silent as he gathered his thoughts, then explained, "The sorcerer alliance consists of all the worlds' greatest Necromancers and the greatest beings of these worlds, they are bound by the agreement of the alliance and rule each world in peace and harmony."

"How could that be possible?"

The myna let out a startled squawk, then quickly stopped itself before it attracted any attention by whispering in return, "Why is the sorcerer world not conquering the rest of those primitive worlds? There are merely one or two great beasts, the ancient sorcerer world can easily…"

Glenn sighed and remarked, "This is because times have changed."

Glenn ignored the seemingly frozen myna on his shoulder, followed the guardian into the Sorcerers' defensive cover and flew to the higher end of the Tree of Life.

The myna's perceptions were still bound by old-fashioned practices.

There was a time when it used to be one great Soul Servant for another great sorcerer. With the changes that came with time, it might not even be aware that the sorcerer world was facing the crisis of destruction. After all, the World-Core's crack happened after the Destiny Lever was activated.

Perhaps the capability of a sorcerer in the ancient times was said to be so great that none of the modern sorcerers could imagine nor would they try to go anywhere near their level. Their knowledge was said to be incomprehensible by modern sorcerers…

The truth was…

Every modern sorcerer was much more powerful than an ancient sorcerer!

Despite the fact that ancient sorcerers' physical build was much stronger in harsh environments, modern sorcerers' creativity and innovation were lightyears ahead when it came to handling spells. Even the system of this sorcerer world was much more organized and undoubtedly much stronger compared to ancient times.

It was only because of the bloodlines and knowledge passed down to the modern sorcerers that created the illusion in the minds of modern sorcerers that ancient sorcerers were unsurpassable.

The Sorcerers did not realize that what they knew was passed down from the great knowledge possessed by the best ancient sorcerer. Not only that, all the failures that modern sorcerers encountered were never written down, washed away by time and cast out by history.

The worst part was…

The battles between the ancient sorcerers and the oceanic race, the war between civilizations and worlds which caused the massive death toll of the human race as well as the other worlds to break into fractions were the results of the actions of ancient sorcerers. They had never thought of protecting their very own sorcerer world.

The war within the sorcerer civilization was not colossal to the extent that it would destroy its world.

After the first war of civilization, the ancient sorcerers started to extend their power to an immense level. What followed was the building of floating cities and continents to protect the sorcerer world from being destroyed by this evolution of civilization.

In that era of great power, the sorcerer world experienced species extinction.

At that time, any conflict between ancient sorcerers could easily destroy the world!

Nevertheless…

As the civilization grew, all Holy Towers were strictly only allowed to be built on other world's fragments. No battle on the continent could involve sorcerers greater than the Stigmata Sorcerer's level. The only functional city in the sky served only as a historical monument and a factory for the Original Will.

If any conflict were to arise in the current sorcerer world, it would entirely demolish the world.

The consequences of such a crisis could inflict terror even in the hearts of emotionless Black Sorcerers!

All these hypotheses based on history could be summarized into one same theory.

The civilization of the sorcerer world never ceased to evolve.

Despite being on the verge of extinction or being split up into groups holding different beliefs countless times, the sorcerer civilization stood valiant and unyielding, becoming more mature with every strike it took.
